Re: 1KZ correction resistors
Have you done the torque converter lockup mod? Not yet. I have tweaked the trans cable and am contemplating dropping the pan to turn up the line pressure tho.[/quote] Couple of questions for you, increase in line pressure........how does that make the trans behave. I hoping your going to say it shi...

Re: MCC bar with fog light inserts, how strong is the plasti
Agree with the flex comment above. I have the model for a 185 Surf and even going down a bumpy road you could see it flex compared to the body. For me this wasnt too much of an issue because I have removed the airbags I wasnt soo concerned about the airbag rating the bar has. Hence I have welded any...

Re: 1KZ correction resistors
Hi, awesome work mate. I have done a similar thing before but didn't have ext temp gauge to verify results. Reading your results it almost looks like you need a cruise setting and a power setting. Be good to have the power but then fuel economy while cruising. Anyway keep up the good work mate!!!!

Re: What shotgun to buy?
Hi Pete, as above the 3 B's are hard to look past. I picked up my berretta Xtreema 2 a couple of years ago and love it. Not as user friendly as my browning gold but nicer shooting and similar fit. The #1 most important thing is the fit. If you dont fit it there is no point in having the best gun bec...

You mentioned a wobble at 60k's under brakes.........My surf had this issue for some time (KZJ78 Front end) and had warped/bent rotors. Put new rotors and pads in and she was like new!

Re: Poptop camper setup for offroad adventures.
Got my WOF sorted the other day, while I was there I asked about the offroad tow coupling similar to the one towards the top of this page. Seems to think it wouldnt pass a WOF. Talking to some others in the know and they think it would be ok. What are your guys thoughts. P.S. Im not really that wor...

Re: Poptop camper setup for offroad adventures.
Canvas is sorted, there is a local guy here who is pretty reasonable. The labour was cheap but the materials is getting up there. Had a quote from a few places for a new top and there around the 3k mark so makes the $1400 pretty cheap. Ended up opting for repairs at this stage and will see how much ...

Re: does prado diff head have to be high pinion?
A mate of mine used a low pinion diff when he sas'ed his 185 surf. It was the easyist option for steering, panhard, sump clearance. He might pop up, there is a thread here about it somewhere Thats me!!! Yeah shes no worries, havnt read the rest of this post so it may already be covered but the main...

Re: Poptop camper setup for offroad adventures.
Hey mate, sorry the pics are not all that clear. The reason I went this way was to go for an independent setup. I can take some pics of the mountings if you want but basicly the front bushing is setup bundera/rangie style and the rears are just your normal pivot on a pin style. I wasnt a big fan of ...

Re: solid axle swap VZN185 surf
If I had a preference on what I would do I would go for a 130 shape to start with. Unfortunately you will have an older surf at the end of it however you could sell the 1 you have and with the $ difference you would almost fund the conversion. Anyway with your 185 Im not sure what the sump setup is ...
