Once you have had a look at the good suggestions above, if your still set on a turbo upgrade.

Consider having a talk to Steve Murch last I saw he was developing a upgrade for the 1kz turbo. He does a great upgrade on the ct20 as well.

Re: Hilux light plug issue

As what Derk said, you first need to check the load on the circuit. Do you have by any chance upgraded headlights? i think all hilux utes came with sealed beams which were candles at about 35w, if you have semi sealed beams (ones where you can change the bulb) you might have 100w lamps in there and ...

Play with them in the gun store, if they do demo days then i would recommend it or ask if you can borrow the demo and test it out. It would be best to find one that fits well I am biased to a beretta though having a xtrema2 that i have had for the last five years and had no problems with it. Somethi...

x2 the commy would cost a shitload less on gas to do a round trip than it would cost to shove one of those head cracking engines in your lux :D x4 seems a little backwards logic to put a $2000+ engine swap instead of paying some extra coins for gas for a road trip, unless its like thirsty beyond be...

If you want some ideas on how to coil it, look at toms offroad thread heaps of coil jobs in there. Thanks for the advice guys. Another question, is this hook good enough to tow or snatch off? It seems to have a bolt missing... But if I got another bolt for it. Welcome good to see another hilux around, make sure its well locked up, maybe think about some good security for it. as a few go missing down these ways.

1st Mod is rated recovery hooks and some recovery gear.
2nd Mod is more and more seat/driving time.
3rd Is my recommendation of diff lockers.

It has never been changed in nz (11 years 200km) so pretty certain its a G series 4.1 ratio 4 pinion diff, so I will need the LOKKA TOY-RO-562 which says...

There should be no movement in the pinion what so ever, needs to be tight or really bad things happen as is any up or down movement. Re: Stripped Thread at recovery Point Fix?

Cool. So in that case repairing the stock thread is a better option? If the threads are damaged i wouldn't recommend repairing them, replacing with something better is the best option. You may have broken the captive nut off inside the chassis if its spinning. Is your hook just attached to only two...

Nice looking lux, make sure its well locked up as they do get stolen regularly.

You can also use ln130 doors for them as well, the surfs dont have the little quarter windows like your nz new ute does so you will need a complete door with glass and window winders etc.
