Re: Diesel issues

Looks like its the timing in the fuel pump. I've got a little inspection port in the fuel pump with a mark that should match up with tdc on no.1, but it's showing on no.6. I think they've set it to tdc on 6 not realising they needed another complete rotation of the cam to match it to no.1. Thank's f...

Re: Diesel issues

Cheers crash, Ill have a go at it tomorrow. There's a chance there's still air in the lines so I'll have another go at bleeding the injector pump before I pull the front cover off.

Re: Diesel issues

The engine rebuilders (Motor Machinist's) here in palmy got a specialist in to do the timing on it, that's about it. Wasn't what I'd call smooth, layed a decent smoke screen Rommel would have been proud of, plus sounded pretty rough.

Diesel issues

Hey guys Just got my 12h-t rebuilt after blowing out 3 pistons. Tried a start up today, didn't fire so I went through cracking the fuel lines to make sure there was no air. Still no start, so I tried a petrol rag over the air intake. It fired, huge clouds of white then black smoke. Couldn't control ...

I've been trying to source a decent hand held radio for convoy stuff and hunting, found a lot of the stuff way overpriced and generally under powered. Did a bit of digging and found these chinese ones. Now if you do a bit of research %90 of reviews that come up will tell you they are outrageously ch...

Blow by and vapor leak

Started me truck this morning, as I do, just to listen to it, and noticed a bit of white smoke being pulled around by the fan. It's coming from the front in the middle of the pulleys, and it looks like it's been happening for a while as that area is now shiny with oil. When I pop the oil cap off I g...

I've run into this on my 12h-t, I got a vsv from the states for 2.95 and shipped it through Youshop. Other option is Aliexpress, the chinese still manafacture most of the vsv's for a fraction of Toyota's price.

Re: Sound proofing, opinions/experiences

I went to a place called Pararubber in palmy, they sold me rolls of high density foam for $10 a meter of offcuts. It's about 5mm thick and is pretty decent. Just urathaned it to the surface and she's insulated sound and heat.

Hey guys, anyone got a 2h or 12h-t around? A very enthusiastic helper with a crowbar has bent the pulley off the power steering into an s and I cant straighten out. Apparently it's a discontinued pulley so no luck from toyota.

Wiring advice

I'm ready to start wiring up the sleeping compartment in my 4x4 but want to pick some intelligent brains about the best way to go about it. Im putting in a small led light to start with, then a solar charger and 12v water pump. Should my wiring diagram look like this: Battery's--->fuse box--->access...

I've got a '96, auto 3.1td. It's been a solid truck for the last 3 odd years ive owned it. I drive from Palmy to Northland about twice a year minimum and its always been a dependable and economical vehicle for the trip. Sits on 100kph just fine, doesnt get there quickly but its a lwb and generally l...
