A mix of cavity wax and Fisholene sprayed all throughout the chassis rails and underside of truck every 6 months or so works a treat but yeah best you steer clear of that salt water

It has a 350 chev in it at the moment and fits very well in the surf body. I haven't done any measurements but I'm hoping the LN150 engine bay confinements are similar

Gday I currently have a LN61 body surf on a LN60 solid axle chassis with a lot of work underneath it HOWEVER the cab is getting a little bit beaten up and a few rust spots are appearing as well as the body has now unfortunately deregistered. yes it is called a carson top and is legal to remove, youll notice that the rear belts are all lap belts etc.
However im not saying the cops arent going to pull you over and check over your truck with a fine tooth comb.
i drive around alot with mine off but i dont normally have people in the back.

Winch only runs one way

Winch was only running one way and wouldn't wind in the cable. Only powers outwards, so I've whipped the motor off and hooked it up to the solenoid block on the bench to make sure it wasn't the gearbox binding or anything stupid. Is it more likely to be the motor or solenoid

Yea id go with a PTO if i had the choice. The main advantage for me with a Electric tho is if ya roll over, you can self recover.

Yea im from kkk and im also getting a bit over the park etc. theres a few paper roads around kaukap and helensville but yea theyre not enuf to occupy ya for more than a few hrs.

I sasd my surf and dropped a 350chev in and i recken that it ya wana be a budget c@#t you could do both for 8k. just grab an eng off tradme and conversion gear from a1 turbos and an axle with leaves and go hermit in the shed for a month. If you want basic reliabilty and torque then go put a good car...

pretty sure ln60 is the shrt wheel base, but just to make sure just jump under neath it and make sure the rear drive shaft goes straight from the gear box to the diff and doesnt have a hanger bearing

make sure that its a short wheel base hillux that your swaping the body on to..
it should have a single piece rear drive shaft

Cheers for the help ill definitely look into it and get onto cliff and see if he can shed some light. Also how different is the bolt pattern between a standard 4bbl holley and a 4bbl qjet. Should be the same aye?

Haha the joys of custom builds aye. to be honest ive only shortened chassis' not extended them so have fun. Ahwell keep at it mate. Oh and cheers i found the led strips you were talking about. My teeth are pretty shot thru from hours and hours of chewing on torches while fixing something in the bush...
