Re: Late 300Tdi Bosch EDC pump

In case anyone's interested, a wise man informed me that the engine speed sensor needs to be connected for it to run. It will start and idle.

Late 300Tdi Bosch EDC pump

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone here has experience with the Bosch EDC pump fitted to the later 300TDi Autos. Trying to figure out which sensors are needed for it to run, even in safe mode. Have an engine on the bench with ECU and loom, No.4 injector sensor, MAF, air control valve but no bloody TP...

Re: Standard 80 series

Anyhow, its just minor clearancing. Its nothing to worry about. Overloading the whole braking system with the big wheels/tyres should be more of a worry. There is always a compromise ;) But you are not going to compromise the caliper by removing a small amount of material from the casting. There is ...

Re: nissan consult connect

Have you tried NISSAN DATASCAN? It's a 3rd party Aussie company. About $60 for a license and allows most of the functionality of CONSULT and CONSULT-II. You can download a demo to see if it will talk to your ECM, then buy a license.

Re: burning clutch when shifting

Have you checked the pushrod on the clutch slave cylinder? It may need to be adjusted. Or if it is non adjustable type, you can adjust the pedal to make sure it is not loading up the pressure plate all the time. From memory the FSM calls for a decent amount of movement, 3-4mm IIRC. Otherwise the thr...

Anyone know which Toyota vehicles came out standard with 5.125 diffs ? And any 5.125 diffs out there for sale ? Cheers Some Hiaces had 5.29 rear axles (90s generation, not sure on model number sorry). The standard 8" Toyo type diff. They are bloody thin though. Some Dyna trucks had 5.13s, the ...

Option A sounds sensible although there are reports of the KM2 not lasting quite as long as the original KM. Still exceptional in all conditions except possibly snow. But it remains the LS or VQ of non-extreme mud radial tyres, ie the industry benchmark. Option B thats a great price though, are they...

Awesome updates, those sliders are the shizz. How are your head gaskets looking after it got hot? We've found loss of combustion gasses at mounting surface... no coolant consumption due to the water gallery design, but one of the gaskets had failed! Though this was on a linered 4.0 motor from the la...

Not the one with the period-correct genuine parts rear mudflaps, with the gold lettering? Geeky, I know. Mmmm Pauls out of town, have you had a chat w/ John at the Toy Shop? (King St). New ownership, a lot better. 'Common sense' attitude for vintage Rovers. They'd at least give it a quick look over :D

From my perspective, i would replace the thermostate with a genuine nissan one, replace waterpump and viscous fan, take the radiator in to get professionally cleaned or replace it with a new one. Yep, Land Rover stud pattern, 15" diameter x 10" wide with 4" of backspacing.
They have some stupid wide bias ply tyres on them.

Pics were after a quick waterblast, totally usable. I might refurb them with sandblast/zinc if you aren't interested.

If you're after Landrover stud pattern, you may need to get them custom made... I'd suggest a call to Warren at 4wdbits.co.nz or Rex at http://landroverspares.co.nz It looks like I will, no one has them or even 8" ones with the offset I want I have some 15x10 or 8, not sure, will check and pos...

I know a TD27 guy who had similar symptoms and it ended up being that the turbo was kafuzzled. To isolate remove hose to engine intake, run engine and replicate conditions, see if the noise calms down.

See Nissan's 'kaizen philosophy' - its the same gearbox rear case. If you really wanted to, you could take the rear case from a 300ZX, bolt on a TD27 bellhousing on one end and a Safari transfer case on the other, with a standard OEM adapter plate. The bitch of course is finding a TD27 bellhousing. ...

the vg30 gearbox is not compatible with the td/qd/zd, not only is the input shaft not match(diesel flywheel clutch etc alot thicker and heavier leaving not enough room for the fork to travel) the gear ratios would make that aforemention sweet spot un-usable with a diesel as you'd be either to low i...

Cool Rover project mate, looks great. Love the Rostyles, a nice tip of the hat to the earlier coil sprung Rovers.

Yeah shame about the 2-door, a 2 door 200Tdi would be an awesome project to restore to factory condition, IMO.

What type of rear locker arrangement do you have?? Keep it up!
