cloggy only broke them because his foot is made of 100kg of led  The accelerator is an on/off switch isn't it? I have owned mine for 5 or 6 years. In that time I've had my fair share of broken diffs. Since putting the Salisbury in the rear I haven't had a single diff issue. I recently put in a...

Petone Radiators x3 Have never been anywhere else and have not wanted to go anywhere else. They have recored, repaired and modified numerous radiators for me over the years. Never had any complaints about the service or the job done. Not quite in the centre of "town" but just a quick zip u...

Best way or Easiest way? Also depends on why and how much you want to lower the compression in the first place. If you are lowering it substantially to then turbo or super charge the living daylights out of the engine then my suggestion would be custom made pistons. If it is just to alleviate pinkin...

can someone please give me contact numbers for where i mite be able to possibly pick up an LS1 for around the 3K mark. That sort of price could end up to be quite appealing. Why Austin A35 diffs? Not the first time I heard of these being used on an off-roader.
Are they strong? Or easily modified? Can't imagine spares would be easy to come by these days?
Or where they just cheap and plentiful some years ago when this buggy was first built?

From the back of the rocker cover to the front of the waterpump pulley (don't have a fan on mine) = 700mm
Width across the rocker covers (not including exhaust manifolds) = 520mm
Dimension are approximate, taken quickly cause it's pissing down with rain.

Yep prices I quoted were NZ Dolllars. 8) Thats damn good pricing. Damn good. Got any links I can look at? Same here Paul, very interested to see where you got those from. Has anyone considered slotting the rear radius arm bush down and fitting a heavy spring under it to relieve the pressure ? Richard Nice "outside of the square" thinking there Richard. Also who ever designed or first thought of the X-link is a clever chappie as well. This is the first time...

Re: Mud tyres for a Disco v8
Cooper Discoverer S/T. ..... no complaints Except wear. Had 245/75's on my Disco. The Discoverer STT's are the only Cooper tyres which don't carry an 80000km guarantee. And for good reason. Cooper's would be out of business by now if they did. Mine lasted less than 40000km. But in that time they pe...

Re: Discovery dash warning lamps!
I am buggered if I even know for sure what that light means, and I have owned my Disco for a fair while now. Mine comes on very briefly when I start the car but it goes out before the engine even fires. I think it is something to do with the engine management system. Being orange (and not red) would...

Well, if you decide to get rid of the viscous fan, can I have it? My viscous decided to crap itself and they are quite expensive to replace. So I shelled out for 2x 14" electric fans as this worked out to less than half the cost of a new viscous. While the electric fans will keep the engine coo...

I slotted my balls  Also had a bit of a wandering problem just like Curly when out on the open road. Due to the castor being near enough to zero after a suspension lift. Luckily Land Rovers have their swivel balls bolted to the diff housing. By slotting the bolt holes by 4mm I am able to rotate...

Re: Installing Drop Boxes in GQ LWB
So it is some kind of adapter which drops the mounting point of the radius arms where they attach to the chassis?
But then it drops the gearbox as well? I'll have to have a nosey under your truck next time I see it. Got me intrigued.

I've got a 12000lbs 12 volt one on the front of my Disco and I am very pleased with it. Like some of the other replies, I am only relying on it for the occasional recovery. When I have used it, it has done very well. Have done some prolonged heavy winching with it and only got hot after 20 or 30 min...

Looks great.
What gauge is the sheet metal?
How's it connected to the chassis? Custom rear crossmember? Got any pics of this with the bumper off?
Need to make a new rear bumper for the Disco and am looking for ideas.

But then when the vehicle is going back down you can see that although there may be some slight angle on the camera to make it look more impressive, the fact is the trees and person are standing up very close to vertical. The is o...
