Re: D21 vs R50 auto trans
Adjust the TPS switch on the injector pump and it will stop kicking back a gear. Rotate it 1mm anti-clockwise. The gearboxes aren't weak. The problem is the heat generated isn't dissipated by the pathetic factory transmission cooler that runs through the radiator. In addition, the TPS switch is set ...

Re: TD27 Bigger Turbo?
MHI TD04L-13T (T25 4 bolt flange) they use these on the 2.8l Iveco 4cyl TD engine. My TD04L-13T arrived today. I also have a 15T compressor housing and cover that I will be testing out. 13T compressor is 53 trim and the 15T is a 56 trim. When I make my hybrid TD04L-15T it will be the same specificat...

Re: 1991 terreno Diesel auto what replacment engines will fi
Keep the TD27! I get 650-700km to a tank in mine and that's after boosting it 16-20psi and tweaking the fuel pump. Torque is a wonderful thing... New turbo on it's way will make it even better. Good aftermarket turbo option is the TD04L-13T - They use this on the 2.8 litre Iveco 4cyl turbo diesels :)

Re: TD04HL-15T + QD32 Intake manifold onto TD27T
The TD04HL turbine is too large for the TD27 to push easily below 2600rpm.
I have ordered a TD04L-13T and will have that in the next week.

TD04HL-15T + QD32 Intake manifold onto TD27T
Installed a custom TD04HL-15T onto my TD27T with a QD32 intake manifold. The turbo is a direct bolt up. I used the HT12 water lines and the oil drain. To make the install easier I had a -3 AN braided oil feed line made up for around $15. My local exhaust shop made a 2.5" dump for me and the 2.5...

Ok, I found the line pressure solenoid dropping resistor, this controls the line pressure for the shifting of gears in the transmission.

Re: TD27T auto - resistor on speed sensor?
Edit: I found this on the 240SX forums - They use the same gearbox. REVOLUTION SENSOR TEST 1) Check resistance between revolution sensor terminals. Resistance should be 500-650 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace sensor. 2) Revolution sensor is a voltage generating sensor and should be ...

have you got a manual or wiring diagram of the auto? i've only got navara one here. it shows a revolution sensor as well as a feed from combo meter (gauges) which will be the speed info. resistor will only work if it a voltage controlled system not a frequency controlled system. Re: TD27T auto - resistor on speed sensor?
i wonder if the system is similar to a patrol and you can manualise the lockup. ie switch it off/on when required also do they run a "sport" mode on the gearbox at all or any overdrive? I was hoping I could use the speed sensor circuit and not just cut the TC lock power feed...people have...

already adjusted the TPS so that the shifts occur at a higher RPM. the converter lockup is controlled by speed and trans temperature and lastly throttle position. the auto kick-down is activated by a switch on the accelerator pedal - you can hear it click as you press the pedal down. does the auto e...

TD27T auto - resistor on speed sensor?
hi guys, sick of my terrano locking up as soon as you are "cruising" above 60km/h. it won't unlock until you really squeeze the throttle and then it revs it's nuts off. what I want to do is put a resistor in the speed sensor circuit to the auto trans ecu to make the ecu think that 75-80 is...

Ordered one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 500wt_1156
Cross Country 4x4 so it should be a reasonable quality silicone bend.
Stoked I can retain the standard intake piping and airbox.

Re: where to plumb boost gauge
What engine? TD27T - Best place is from the boost port on the back of the turbo cross over pipe. It is a 1/8th NPT thread. You can get a T piece that screws into the boost port and have 6mm nipples on either side of the T. One side to the boost compensator and one side to your boost gauge. TD42T - I...

Video would be 10x more useful with gauge positioned near tacho so can see rpm vs boost... Another option would be to get an alloy bend tig'd to turbo intake, then use rubber pipe from there. start with an intercooler. do it once do it right. then go to your local muffler shop and get them to make the bends, tig them all together into as few pieces to install as possible, less joins means less leaks. Re: TD27 Auto Box issues....Not using 2nd
Will do - I will take photos in the morning which will show my current adjustment. It's is also a big contributor the the auto gearbox failing. The TPS tells the auto how much throttle you are using. When the TPS switch is set too low, it thinks you aren't using much throttle and the auto will shift...
