That is crazy stuff. Looks even more insane from driver's view. Filmed on Dallara GP2 car, 612hp / 688 kg with driver.

Reversed battery polarity
Finally a chance to use the most common Star Trek phrase about switching the polarity :D I was overseas for a month and forgot to disconnect Safari battery cables (24 volts, twin battery system) before leaving. When I got back and tried to start the car it was completely dead, no interior light, clo...

Re: Anybody been up Te Aroha side of Thompsons track lately?
I'm going with him on my Safari with decent mud tyres and recovery gear so I'm fine, just a bit worried how his Pathfinder will handle few big rocks along the track.
pmfg; yep, it's this sunday. I'll drop you a PM closer to the end of the week.

Re: Woodhill 4WD Park open again 6-7 April 2013
We are planning to go there for the first time this Saturday or Sunday.
Are track difficulty levels marked somehow? I would rather keep out of extreme stuff for now as we are going alone.

Re: 20 th-21st
Decided to do a quick oil change for Safari. Took only 3 hours
Old filters must have been screwed in by a bloody gorilla and filter wrench just crushed them. Had to do old "screwdriver through filter" trick to both filters to get them out with spilling old oil everywhere.

Got winch sorted out on Friday so decided to have a look at Te Aroha side of Thompsons track. Easy as but about 1km before the summit we hit a traffic jam (photo below) I added some subtle photoshopping to hide identities of persons involved. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8249/8645087644_50a22e6d8a_...

Re: 6th- 7th april
Kids were having a birthday party so a perfect excuse to evade into shed for a day. I recently bought a Safari with dodgy WARN winch. It's one of those older models with 4 solenoids out of which 3 were busted. Free spool clutch was also stuck. Pulled winch apart and reassembled it with fresh grease....

Newbie near Hamilton
Hi all I might have met some of you at National Park event run in March this year. That was my first try on off-roading ever and it turned out to be lots of fun for whole family. Things escalated quickly after that. All of the sudden I felt that we really, really need second (3rd) car and ended up b...
