Re: Haynes Manual For 1KZ-TE Toyota

Thanks Jerry. I'll take a look there. If anyone else has this question, I heard back from Haynes, and the book I linked to is only the 3.4 petrol Dear James, Thank you for your inquiry. You are correct, the manual only covers petrol engines. We are sorry, but the manual you are needing is not publis...

Haynes Manual For 1KZ-TE Toyota

Hey guys, I was planning on picking up a Haynes manual for my truck but am really having a hard time finding out if they've got one for the diesel hilux. I read somewhere that they only cover the 3.4 petrol. I'm looking specifically at: http://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Tacoma-4Runner-Automotive-Repair/d...

Re: Headlights from the US on my 3rd gen surf

Lhd lenses cannot be used in an rhd vehicle, the beams are totally different. Out of interest what did they cost you? You can buy them here in nz Http://www.euro2000carparts.co.nz/?action=show_part&part_no=36366 And to answer your original question yes you will need rhd reflectors. Three hundre...

Headlights from the US on my 3rd gen surf

Hey guys, I imported some 4th gen Hilux Surf (99-02) headlights from the US and I was going to install them on my 3rd gen (96). Apparently they bolt straight in as it was only a facelift model. I haven't put them in yet, but it just occurred to me that these lights will be for right hand drive ones....

Re: post your trucks fuel use

Not a Nissan but 96 3.0TD (non-intercooled) Surf, auto. 31s. 65l in a tank. Always over 600km before I hit E light, then can get another 50+. Never let it get that low though. When I'm towing the Zuki on the trailer it's more like 300-400. Going to woodhill costs me over half a tank for a 200km roun...

Re: New Nissan Patrol offroad

Three minutes of farting around with classical music to see a fat pig of a truck drive over a hill and through a puddle? Who was that ad aimed at? What's the bet the electrics were fried after that puddle :P There's probably a hundred useless features in that thing that are just something to break o...

Nice find Spanky. Looks like a choice little project.

Some of those old Suzukis are cool. A guy at the local gun store has a mint hard top samurai.

Re: does wheel size offect fuel consumption

I've got a 96 KZN185 surf with a set of GT Radial mud tyres (http://www.gtradial.com.au/contentpage.aspx?pageID=57). With my road tyres I'd get 600km out of a tank of diesel. With the mud tyres I get 550km. Nothing worth getting worked up over. But for unsealed roads it's a waste of time. You'll jus...

Re: Gun law changes?

This combined with the US law stuff is stressful as hell. What's the difference between a Ruger mini 14 and an AR15 in reality? Nothing practical... yet one is now about to be entirely restricted unless you have an E category endorsement on your license. The whole thing isn't about safety or lowerin...

New member from Auckland

Hey guys, I'm a new member from Pukekohe, in NZ (can't see where to add that to my profile). I'm a keen hunter/shooter/fisherman so naturally I've got a truck. My main ride is a '96 Hilux Surf, 3.0 turbo diesel. It's basically stock standard bar a set of serious mud tyres. I live on a dairy farm and...
