Re: Steering Box Strength

The input seals do like to leak on them, but the only one i have seen with any damage was one out of a truck that was dedicated and thrashed bush truck for 10 years, had a twisted shaft, still worked fine just couldnt be rebuilt

16-17th May

Do people not get out 4 wheeling these days? Too many ongoing projects?  Went on my last trip in my truck for a month as cert is in late June, of course this 'last trip' was so I wouldn't risk breaking it before certing, and ends up costing me a door and sill  11151012_1171339582892...

Yeah good points. I have decided that since i only need at most 10mm more to be happy with it i will just space my engine mounts up to suit (as long as certifier is ok with this)

Flipping ifs draglink

I am currently in the process of fitting my ecotec 3.8 into a rolling body of a mu before fitting it into mine and was wondering if anyone has ever tried flipping the draglink so it sits under the pitman arm and idler arm? This would give me the perfect amount of clearance to mount it lower and easi...

Hey mate sorry to bring up an old thread with a silly question but in regards to the commodore motor and box going in. Do these boxes have overdrive and did you just run it connected to the ecu as standard for its shifting or did it require some special wiring to shift correctly? Im going down the c...

Yeah that is another consideration, but at some stage I will need a cert for the 50mm body lift I am putting in soon. If i don't get that certified then i definitely will just purchase lifted springs

Hi all, I have a 93 Isuzu Mu which will be going for a cert next year, and I want to know how people go about getting a spring over lift certed? I know the shocks need remounting and driveshaft possibly needs lengthening.. and will add a track rod to get rid of axle tramp. What else will need consid...

My 2.8 mu runs 14psi happily with fuel increased. Will do the same to my 3.1 mu once its running, egt gauge is more critical on the 3.1 definitely though imo :)

Sounds obvious but mine just did that and had 3 other mu's at the workshop doing the same. The oil filters do not like to only be hand tight as most cars would be but rather tightened with a tool. I tightened mine right up and its sweet now.

I'm just wondering what boost taps people are using on their Diesel turbos?
I have an isuzu mu and would like to up the boost a bit, had it open boosting up to 15psi today by removing the wastegate actuator hose and it felt great but would like to do it properly. Cheers :)

Opinions on Head Gasket brands

I've been offered a good deal on a head gasket and head set etc from kiwi cylinder heads and was wondering if anyone has ever used their head gaskets and their opinions etc.? The gasket is steel and will be used with a factory head that has been machined/checked by a machine shop.
