1993 Nissan Terrano diesel - automatic

I haven't had this truck long, got it with good intentions but I can't bring myself to take it off the beaten path so decided to get back into something more suited to tarmac life. Starts first pop every time, runs smoothly. No leaks, LSD rear diff. 231kms on the clock, RUC are current with about 10...

Re: may 18th-19th

Made up some blanking plates for the egr and have an intercooler ready to modify. Weather is too inconsistent to get in there and actually do the work without a garage. Last weekend I fixed the aircon (had no belt, was a gamble whether it'd fix it or not) and installed a sub.

Someone photoshop a beer in it's hand and a drunken smiley face. That truck looks like it's just stumbled home from the pub.

Re: crown range

Agreed on the behind the scenes being better than the actual vid. I wish they took the time to cover the targa cars in this sort of detail, all I see is V8 motorsport and I find the street targa stuff and rally so much more interesting to watch on tv!

Re: What do I do with this theif....

So what do you do? If the police wont do anything, and they tell you you're not allowed to take it into your own hands what is there left to do? It really shits me that I can pass 4 or 5 speed cameras every week on my way to work, go through a couple of reg/wof checks at the weekend and when you rep...

Re: crown range

I have never quite got the "bug" when it comes to drifting. While it takes skill and all that kinda jazz, it's still a showman sport and I've always been the type to just go flat out, rather than make it look pretty, would rather see a pikes peak car give that road a go or something like t...

The one on the right that you're not sure about is fog lamp, the one to the left of it is some kind of gauge (my katakana is a bit rough these days!).

Re: woman crashes trying to pass a police escorted motorcade

I wonder if they're supposed to be taking up both lanes. I bloody hate when you get some clown sitting next to a bus/other slow vehicle travelling 80kph and you can't get past. Still though, what a clown for trying the grasskhana maneuver.

WTB: d21 roof racks

Been keeping an eye on trademe but so far no luck and $350 for some new proracks is pushing the budget. Thought I'd see if anyone has some roof racks for a d21 terrano. Preferably in auckland.

Cheers team!

Moving offroad

I've done the car thing to death now, having had projects from a V7 WRX STi to a NA MX5 with a turbo bolted on the side, decided that it's time for something new. My mate Keith has a nice terrano and I've always liked the things (used to kick one around a mate's farm as a kid) so decided that was th...

Re: Terrano slower than usual?

Maybe some one slipped a Toyota engine in while you were not looking that would caused a power loss Could have! The cap was in place but it had a big tear in it, so it had been off before. I didn't crank it much, maybe a 1/4 of a turn at most. I will put an EGT in there at some point cos I'd like t...

Re: Terrano slower than usual?

Turned out to be a number of issues. I worked through that list and eventually found a slight boost leak. Plugged that and got 7psi. I then attacked the fuel pump, checking the gauze on the inlet and all that, and decided just to bite the bullet and turn up the flow slightly. Not only did that fix m...

Re: Terrano slower than usual?

Yeah I've read up on EGT's and all that stuff, having done a fair bit of work with petrol engines and tuning I'm familiar with all the basics, just getting my head around the different way things are done with a diesel. Didn't want to even look at that stuff until I know what's up with this, much be...

Terrano slower than usual?

I hate to have my first real post a trouble shooting one but I'm left a bit stumped! It's a bit of curly one, done the petrol thing many a time but this is my first diesel so please bare with me! Basically I have a 1993 Nissan Terrano 2.7 turbo diesel. Starts first pop, idles fine and doesn't smoke ...

Re: TERRANOS the good, the bad and the ugly

Whew, I bought one at the weekend (have wanted to get one for a while, used to play with one on a mate's farm when we were kids). Glad to read not everyone hates them (got a few toyota/mitsi fanboys in my circle of friends). Forgot how slow they are though! Also, hi I'm James. Probably see some of y...
