Re: Davies Craig electric water pump and controller
Thanks guys for all the help. I gave the system a better bleed and it looked like I may have had some air in the system. Now it seems to run better and bout half way on the old reliable nissan temp gauge so should be all good. I am going to build a better scoop to get the air down to the radiator so...

Re: Davies Craig electric water pump and controller
Thanks for the quick replies. I tried a 0.9 and 1.1 cap. It pushes into the overflow at real low temp the coolant is still real cold. I am wondering if the thermostat is not flowing enough coolant. I will try bypass the electric pump and try it from there. Heater doesn't really matter much that demi...

I find that with the electric water pump installed it is pushing coolant into the overflow tank even at idle. There must be some kind of restriction. Who is running t...

Re: Recommendations on boost controller&waste gate
The holset turbos are good quality. I think its Steve Murch the turbo guru who sells them in Auckland. Might be worth getting in touch with him if you havent already as he can provide some good advice. I have had external wastegates on previous cars, the only thing I would say is buy a good quality ...

It didn't cost that much, I bought some stainless steel and the nuts and bolts then its just the time to make it. I can't remember in terms of a dollar figure.

I have managed to get a bit of work done on the truck recently. I picked up a pto winch and all the bits. I didnt like how much it stuck out so I made a new winch mount. Hi Trundle, do you have any photos of the amount of light the leds put out compared to factory lamps? How do the cooling fans hold up to mud etc?

Re: Hello from Palmerston North
If I can find a PTO gearbox I will use the standard winch cradle (maybe shorten it a bit and make it smaller) other wise some round a tube bumper and sliders etc rear bar will much the same. Bar work is last on my list at this stage. My list at the moment is: 1. Adjust rockers and check for wear 2. ...

My auto trans developed a buzzing noise so I changed it for a manual transmission. It has pretty much solved the problem it is far better to drive now. I welded the rear quarters up tonight. What a terrible job. It was pretty tough to get in there with the grinder and mig torch. But at least it is all done. I just have to paint them and put some flares on. Crash, yep I am going to use garden edging.

I just installed a 50mm suspension lift using efs shocks from 4x4bits.co.nz. they are really good to deal with and shipping was fast.
I am unsure how much to extend the bump stops. Is there a standard bump stop extension length for a 50mm lift?

The setup runs pretty good I havent had any problems with it yet. Unsure the exact difference it makes but it keeps it cool to touch. Got my first dent the other day by dropping the rear end into a rut. Once I chop the quarters it will be gone and I will have a bit more clearance. http://i967.photob...

Re: Hello from Palmerston North
Yeah fitted it after the turbo cause it arrived after I had already had the turbo fitted and the lines plumbed in. I might consider moving it later on but for now it seems alright.
