Re: SJ413 with a G16A bush truck
I did a similar swap and made a bracket to mount the ecu high up under the dash on the passenger side above where the loom comes through the firewall. I didn't waterproof mine. Plenty of guys have used plastic containers for that though.

You're repainting it? I'm guessing that's a full tear down again?!
Either way, what an awesome build and an awesome vehicle!

I don't see why these would be hard at all. Do they have to be one piece, or can they be fabricated?

Re: SJ413 diff swap to Vitara
Some of the vitara diffs are 26 spline and so are a direct fit. But you'll just end up breaking the aluminium housing, so swapping the ring and pinion over is the go.

Re: Rusty the SJ413
One is the temp sender the other should be a temp switch for the AC fan One should short to ground at a certain temp the other should change impedance ( decrease ohms ) as the temperature rises. From memory the vitae's uses a different impedance range to the SJ and most use the SJ sender to get ful...

This is what I have done with my temp sender https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4357/36553987546_c2114274c4_c.jpg The gauge sender is on the RH side of the pic. There was a really crappy connector thing stuck on the end of that little 'stick' that just hung there limply. Not a good connection. So I trie...

The plan is to weld some decent gussets from the tube to the chassis rails to stop that from happening.

Phew, this hasn't been updated in a while... It wasn't running right, and I got that sorted. Turns out it was the throttle body after all that. Swapped it out for a good one and away I went. Then I found this crack, just to the left of the frost plug: https://farm1.staticflickr.com/701/32639840444_a...

Does anyone know anything about the track shown here heading west (left) from the summit of the Akatarawa Road (can see Odlin's heading out east/right)? It looks like it's a marked track on Google, and you can also make out a physical track too. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4186/34669294622_fdc08e2...

Re: g16a running poorly, erratic idle, conversion issues
Cheers for the replies guys. I have checked the connection to the coolant temp ECU sender and that seems ok. No idea how to actually test it though? I have a CEL, and I get a code 12 which means no faults. I don't think I have an intake air temp sensor. Normally its on the airbox, but I didn't have ...

g16a running poorly, erratic idle, conversion issues
Hey guys. I've recently put a 16v mpi g16a into my SJ413. Did everything myself, incl all wiring. I drove the car the motor came out of before pulling the motor out and the motor was fine. She started the first time I tried it after the conversion, no dramas there. On the first start, it idled high,...

It's a good feeling when ya get them going, you say about your clutch what kind is it? just got mine going too (your diagram worked very well) and the clutch is slipping bad thought it could be the more power and need a heavy duty one. Apparently HD clutches are more hassle than they're worth break...

Cheers for the replies guys What's my solution? All wiring diagrams for installing TTs that I see online all seem to be a basic 3 or 4 wire install. I guess some TTs would have all of that sort of thing built in? Out of curiosity, what would happen in an auto if the motor switched off while travelli...
