Re: QD32 possible to do bearings without removing motor?

Well, an update..
tried another genuine Nissan filter which Nissan guaranteed had an anti drain back valve, and now the oil light goes out from cold within 2 seconds....I'm bloody rapt!
Thanks for all replies guys, much appreciated.

Re: QD32 possible to do bearings without removing motor?

Thanks BlakeNZ, yeah I have decided the motor is pretty healthy, because it runs like a dream. Does not use a drop of oil or coolant, and once the motor and trans has warmed right up, its smooth and a lot more powerful than my Mistral was, its a great tow vehicle..poor thing has been a skidder today...

Re: QD32 possible to do bearings without removing motor?

Cheers, used a 15w40 diesel oil which is what this motor is supposed to run. New genuine Nissan filter with anti drain back valve fited. Might try a pack of 5w40 diesel oil and see if that help, Supersheep has them for about $70 at the mo. No knocking on startup, but surely the oil light should go o...

QD32 possible to do bearings without removing motor?

My QD32 takes a good 5 seconds for the oil light to go out after standing overnight, and if left for an hour or so between starts, takes a couple of seconds. Changed oil and used a genuine Nissan filter, 15W40 oil. No better. Clock says 230,00kms but it an import Regulus. Can bottom end bearings be ...

Re: Advice on 3.2 Regulus

good power. very reliable motor. keep trans serviced. strong diff. add a trans cooler if towing. only downside is that they are "ETi" which means that the diesel injector pump is expensive to repair when it wears or faults. Budget $3k for a complete job. But who knows when or if it will f...

Advice on 3.2 Regulus

What are these like? Wanting a tow wagon with hi/low for getting out of sometimes wet paddocks. Looking at a 3.2 diesel tomorrow. Anything to look for on these in particular, weak spots? Also it has no tow bar, does it have to be a "Regulus" towbar, or would an R50 Terrano bolt straight on...

1994 L200 4WD V6 Manual for sale

My L200 has started using coolant, so guess its either one of the head gaskets, or a cracked head. Hasn't got hot,( never went above half on guage as long as I've had it, didn't use coolant) coolant is green and clean, oil is milky. Runs and starts perfectly, wouldn't know anything was wrong apart f...

Any Mitsi gurus here?

Okay, have a 1994 L200 4WD, V6 5 speed manual. Love it. But it is incredibly low geared, so just wondering if there is a bolt in diffhead which will raise gearing a bit? Do they share running gear with that era Pajero? Or is it an across the board diff? It pulls 3000 at 100, main problem is 1st gear...

Re: L200 4wd V6 fuel lines

Cheers, bought it anyway..crawling underneath it the lines don't look that bad. I'll clean them up as best I can and replace fuel filter, that looks rusty. Some of the fuel lines/brake lines have hard black crap (possibly tar) on them so will scrape that off...if any part of the line looks dodgy I'l...

L200 4wd V6 fuel lines

While looking at options to replace the Mistral for towing, I have a chance at picking up an L200 4wd doublecab ute, 3 litre V6, 5 speed manual, 1994. Seller has said it needs fuel lines underneath for next warrant, (and surface rust underneath cleaning and painting) and the fuel lines are hard to f...

Re: Bighorn owners, your thoughts please?

Thanks guys, they sound okay to me. If I get one it will be a grocery wagon 99 percent of the time, but when I tow wood I need something that can keep up with traffic. The Mistral is totally inadequate to tow with..feels like its hooked up to Ayers rock. BlakeNZ I haven't thought of this mod but not...

Bighorn owners, your thoughts please?

Looking for input from you guys who own or have owned Bighorns. The 3.1 model from say 1992 onwards to about 1998ish when they changed to a 3.0 litre. How are they for towing, power wise? Currently have a 1995 Mistral with 155km on it, but with a ton and a half of wood behind it it struggles to hit,...

Opinions on 2000 onwards Pajeros

Just 'considering" a Pajero, year 2000 onwards, 3.5V V6 model. Have heard the 3.5 is a better engine than the 3.0? Or how are the diesel models of these engine wise? So from you in the know (hopefully by personal experience)... How thirsty are these things with everyday driving? Realise they wi...

What battery cca for TD27T please?

Battery in my Mistral is buggered, what is the minimun CCA requirement for these TD27 engines? Seems 600 to 630cca is the common size in an NS70 battery, but I have a 750 CCA in there now, which is putting out 600 when checked..will start it once, but not twice until its had a run. Heaps of NS70 bat...

Correct way to check trans fluid

Whats the "correct" way to check auto trans fluid in an old 95 Mistral auto? Have drained and refilled mine twice but would like to know it has enough...or if I've overfilled it.....

Hot then idle in park, or neutral..or cold?

Thanks guys

I'll bust in on this thread, I need to do mine as well, leak in the front on my IM. Does cleaning the manifold out actually help anything? I mean as in running or power? TD27t injector removal, straightforward?

Bought a set of recond injectors for the Mistral, so is it straightforward to remove the old ones, any tips? Its not an ETi model, plain older td27t. Re: Rough shift from first to second, normal?

Hi, yep, a jerk from first to second when cold, not much better when warm. Changes quickly and drives really well, making me wonder if a solenoid is faulty? If I drive really slowly its smoother. Cheers
