Re: FJ40 roll cage, power steering, and disc brake front end
Well... I still have the FJ. It's been a bit unloved so I started by wire brushing the underside of the body and chassis, well most of it. I think I only have from the front springs forward to finish off now. Along the way I decided to convert the back double opening lower doors into a single fold d...

WTB: 2008-2010 Defender 110 SW
Looking for a tidy 2008-2010 Land Rover Defender 110 station wagon, 7 seater (w/less than 120K on the clock).
If anyone knows of one coming up for sale or one that's for sale but not currently on TM, flick me a PM. Based in Wellington but happy to travel for the right one.
Cheers.

Drove past you guys when I was heading back in my 40 series when your vehicles were parked up while chatting to one of the bach owners (on the first beach run a few bays back before Karori stream.

Re: 60 series hubs on a 40 series axle
Yip did the same in the past - 60 series complete hubs onto 40 series axle. I had to retain my 40 series manual hubs over the 60 series ones as the circlip on the 40 series spline seemed to be further out meaning the 60 series hub wouldn't slide on completely - however it should have in theory... so...

That has to be almost the end of JJ's truck surely , look at the bend in the body line . It must have a bent chassis or its a deceptive pic . Maybe he has just ripped the front guard off the inner bodywork . So how are you going to handle the 24-12v switch? Running two batteries with the motor on one or a converter? Looking really good BTW. Also - what are you using to fuel it? Carb, injection, LPG?

Re: Certification cost
$450 sounds about right. Remember to make sure that you get all the mods done that your planning as you're paying the same price whether its one thing cert'd or several. I'd also imagine that getting the speedo calibrated would be you're problem to sort (if they pick it up).
Good luck

$550 for a Megasuirt EFI ECU. I remember paying $1200 for a Link system 15 years ago so these seem damn cheap. Bring on the EFI

Well, I didn't make it around the coast today... hardly made it around the block with the changes I made to the carb (runs like a 4 cylinder until the revs get up). Haven't quite worked out what it is yet but firstly I swapped back to the original jets, still ran like crap at idle and when you first...

Re: FJ40 roll cage, power steering, and disc brake front end
shroud looks good. Just an extra suggestion, you might want to put some sort of panel/shroud down the sides of the radiator between it an the front panel to direct airflow thru it rather than allowing it to pass round it like it is able to do as it is now  Yip onto that... have some other pan...

Re: FJ40 roll cage, power steering, and disc brake front end
Made up the new fan shroud for the radiator... should have done it ages ago instead of trying the various other things that didn't help. I can now hold a rag in front of the bull bars and it's getting drawn towards the vehicle. Will take it for a cruise around the coast tomorrow to see if it heats u...
