Holden 3.8 I believe it was originally in a 96 commodore with the Holden auto and the Hilux transfer professionally installed

Advice on 3.8 v6 hilux

Hi I am looking at buying a 92 Hilux with a 3.8 litre Holden v6 in it. Truck is absolutely immaculate never been off road.
does anybody have any experience with this conversion i.e. what they go like off road etc.. cheers

I have been recomended castrol edge 5w30 for use in my 93 escudo g16a by the oil selecter at supercheap.
seems thin to me .does anyone have any experance running this oil in these motors

hi I am on my 4th swb and all but one were turbo;d, the one that was n/a td42 still went ok , towing the boat still did it all right just the hills got me down to 3rd, if it was a big hill then mabe 2nd, if you keep it up in the 3000rpm you will go every where. ps if you get a n/a then just get a t...

is yours 8v or 16v. I tried nulon 75-90 gl5 and it changed like a bag of s#$t then a replaced it with redline 75-90 gl4 it cost a fortune but she's back to changing smooth. There are cheaper options if you go to a oil manufacturers web site they normally have a tool to help select the correct oil

In mine the gearbox and transfer are separate. 4l will do both make sure you use gl4 gearbox fluid not gl5 as it will cause syncro damage also get the proper 10mm squire drive don't try and use a 3/8 ratchet to get the plugs out as they are soft ali and once damaged can be a pain in the ass. take th...

What is the biggest tyre you can get on a 93 2dr escudo standard height im looking at a set of 205/75/r15 but don't what any rubbing or bottoming out on the tyres

escudo lift

Im looking at lifting my zook suspention a couple of inchs whats involved is it just a set of shocks and springs or is there more to it .How much would you expect to pay for the whole lot? also what size tyres would you recommend post lift

have you checked to see if the front shaft spins when driving in 4x4 that could eliminate some stuff

Im new to the site my names dan i live north of auckland have owned a bighorn and have currently got a 93 escudo that i use at the murawai bombing range/woodhill forest i am looking to build a resonably priced 4x4 for mud any suggestions on a good truck to start with

Idle drop when oil cap is removed

Hi guys
When my engine (g16a escudo) is running and you remove the oil cap the idle drops as if it is a about to stall.I can't find any obvious vacum leaks and engine otherwise runs well .Has anyone experanced a similar problem

Hey team

can any one recommend a place to buy the recommend 75w-85 gl4 gearbox oil for my escudo at a resonable price?.I recently changed out the old stuff for nulon 80w-90 gl5 and shes not loving it, finding it a little hard to get gears

How much would you expect to pay to have a g16a out of a suzuki escudo rebuild from the ground up including new head. How hard would it be to do it a home. I have experance at replacing hole engines but have never pulled one to bits.
