more like 35 years of mun and grime. should be ok tho,, most of the nest is wiring ive put in, :? hell of a mess.i will be making it a lot better when i put it back together :wink: ,hopefuly be only one loom going to the front instead of 30 individual wires :roll: ,,looks horrid. better go get into ...

todays update.

steering column out,steering box off,drag link off,managed to find enough wires to hotwire it so i could give it a rev :twisted: ,, feel better now.


i think i may have a headache when it comes time to re-wire the beast....ahh well. i have a test light... :wink:

OMG

i found a price for a 60 series box and its not pretty. bit of measuring and conclusion is= surf IFS powersteer box has same sector shaft measurment ( at drop arm ) of 32mm, same as the 60 series cruiser. prolly have a neak down inside somewhere but for the huge price difference im going to tell mys...

if your talking about "driving lights" that work on dip,, then as NJV6 says,, no more than 4 operational,all to pass the dip light beam set,, if its "spot lights" as in high beam lights then same rule applies but they have to only work on high beam,again,, all to pass the high beam set,, manual swit...

change of box

cancel smurf box,, been talkin to a guy up here who's seen them shear sector shafts quite often :( (cant handle 1000kg's sitting on top of the wheels trying to turn) , big fat heavy cruiser needs a tougher box than the smurf can offer, so..... next sugestion was the box off a 60 - 70 series cruiser ...

bak to power steering,, ive had a look at some mates smurfs and that looks like the way to go,, ifs box to get rid of all the north/south drag links,, just a couple of questions tho,, have you done one of these conv's before Steve ?,, if so , where did you mount the steer box, in front of the batter...
