more common to see them bolted to that bit of steel that hangs down (seen in the photo between the dogleg mounting point and the place where the tow bar is mounted to the chassis with two bolts) with the angled slot in it, suitable for recovery shackle. How much weight are you towing? Or are you con...

the "new" 70 series Cruiser.

Well Toyota are releasing their updated 70 series. You have probably seen the much touted safety improvements advertised. In particular, it required the addition of stability control, to allow it to be sold in NZ under current regulations. Whilst this addition also means flash stuff like hill start ...

Re: 1kz turbo oil line

no. try to source the correct gasket. Sealant can squeeze into places you don't want, and then can block the drain, or deteriorate over time due to the constant heat cycling, end up in your sump. It's not a huge risk, but why take it? You can see the oil drain and oil feed gaskets in this link http:...

I think the G52 refers to your diff. The G means it is the 8" diff common to hiluxs, the 52 means it is a 3.72 ratio I believe.

Re: WANTED - AIR COMPRESSOR FOR AIR LOCKER

the cheapest option is a small 12v one off trademe(currently $12.99!!!) it will provide ample air to switch on the locker. Alternatively, spend $200 , and have a compressor that is capable of providing on board air(generally ok for blowing your own tires up, if not everyone elses.) The ARB branded o...

had this happen to a mate with a camry. if the fuel lines have surface rust (and you spot it before the warrant place does), then a wire brush or sandpaper and then painting them will sort them.HOWEVER, if the warrant place has noted the brakeline or fuel line rust, then they wont accept this sandin...

Re: Bighorn owners, your thoughts please?

they are a little bit gutless. Some td27s apparently have a mesh screen in behind a banjo bolt on the fuel pump. This can get clogged up, and rob lots of power. Simple clean (if your one has it) and maybe worth a look. (much quicker than removing the manifold to clean, and the EGR blanking can be a ...

have you considering putting a bigger down pipe/exhaust on the mistral and upping the boost?
Also note the intercooled models have 25% more power than your model. Add a top mount intercooler and a bonnet scoop to feed it?
Or buy a 1996 onwards 3.2 diesel terrano?

I was of the understanding that as long as you remove the airbags, any wording that suggests to occupants that it has airbags, and the frontal sensors that trigger the airbag, then the airbag removal doesn't have to be certified.

yeah you want the return to go into the sump. Fairly high towards the block from memory( I had a ld28 turbo in my former 110 ) Pretty sure my oil feed teed into the oil pressure sensor, rather than run a pipe behind the block, it went straight over the rocker cover to the top of the turbo. park it up, spray lots of CRC onto the dump pipe studs for a couple of days prior to trying to undo them. If you want to save a fair bit of time, buy a aftermarket dump pipe, and then fab the rest up yourself. I think the final loudness is more dependant on the size and construction of the muffler, ...
