ok, it looks like I have found two rims, though am yet to inspect and pick up. Has anyone else got something tucked away? I can provide alternative rims if you need.

Re: North Range Road

Some mates went through North Range Road on the weekend. It is usually ok for shiny trips, but had heard it had cut up somewhat over winter, and this has proved correct. A couple of holes had become a bit gnarly, a pajero with stock tyre size got bellied in the ruts. I would advise not going in alon...

LN65 / YN65 Hilux factory rims wanted

Hi, has anyone got a set of (1984-1987) Hilux factory rims they would be willing to part with, I'm looking to restore a LN65 to original wheels. I believe they might be split rims. I also believe they are a 16x6" , six stud, with a plus 35mm offset. Any help appreciated, and if you know lots ab...

Re: Nissan Terrano R50 TD27 Smoking

I've heard about it, but i think it is possibly only a factor on the NON ETi models of TD27s.
my fuel pump went at 190k km.
BTW At 250k km your injectors are due a re condition. Not overly expensive.

Re: Nissan Terrano R50 TD27 Smoking

How many KM has the motor done? is it using any coolant? (probably not, but i have to ask) If not, the white smoke usually means excess fuel. I have seen white/gray smoke on a TD27 that had a blocked air intake tract, it was being starved of air, so hence mixtures were real rich. However, given that...

Re: ISUZU NPR TRUCK PROBLEM

diagnostic analysis will narrow it down. How far are you from the dealer? sometimes(not always) the exhaust brake warning thing can be a red herring. For instance, when my giga 400 was suffering a faulty speed sensor(located on the top of the trans) the exhaust brake warning light was on, or somethi...

two issues too discuss. Firstly , what is the manual trans variant(ie is it the "big' box or the smaller / weaker one? I'm pretty sure that model terrano (R50?)has the bigger box, so that is good for you if towing. The Injector pump is about due to play up, but it is a lottery. Mine started dri...

sounds like it's going to be very capable. Can't help you with the extractors, but they are an appealing item on the 2L motor (2.4 litre Diesel) so I assume they will help on the 2.8 motor too. They don't have much grunt, so any gain is noticeable . With regards to the LSD, it is common for them to ...

i could lend you one in a 265/70/16 on a 185 series Surf rim until you find what you need? It has (in theory) the same rolling diameter as most 31" tyres.

so is that an aftermarket intercooler kit that you installed or is it all custom? If it is custom, I can see it would've taken much planning and trial and error.
And yes-that is a strange place for a factory cooler. Not surprised it got bent.

Re: Porsche Off -- A Cayenne Offroad Project

what i do know is that if you have a (50mm?) dent in your sill (on a monocoque vehicle) then it is a warrant issue, so you need to protect them somehow. I followed the bmw X5 thread, it was nice work and it was entertaining. And it was novel. Now you have this project, with low range and diff locks ...

Rust in crumpy Hilux footwell/ rain leaks in

Hi, has anyone had any direct experience with the cause of rusty footwells in a hilux (mid eighties)? I was looking at a LN65 and the previous owner said that the the rain came in the scuttle panel (vents in front of the windscreen) and pooled in the footwells(with obvious results.) Obviously there ...

advantages- very cheap lift. Disadvantages- there is debate as to whether it changes your effective spring rate. ie somehow a 30 mm spacer can give you a 60mm lift.(True story- happened to me, carefully measured before and after) Sometimes the spacer can dislocate under extreme flex(say a wd21 terra...

yeah, you have correctly identified that it's not locking up the torque convertor as early as it should/used to. Sometimes i think it is a faulty sensor(for instance, it won't lock up till the computer sees a certain operating temp-not sure if this is an engine coolant temp, or trans fluid temp). Ot...

When adding a top mount intercooler ,many people use threaded rod (4 rods mounted vertically) , with nuts/lock nuts to secure the intercooler at the correct height.

Re: QD32 possible to do bearings without removing motor?

hey, for your reference, i checked my Mistral TD27 ETi for you (basically the same motor as your QD32) and it takes between 4 and 5 seconds for oil pressure light to go out from a cold start, and oil light goes out instantly if warm. I'd consider the motor to be in fairly good health. So unless ther...
