Re: Winch dimensions
Yes.
I have my winch reasonably open. I want easy access to everything including cabling.
Does expose it slightly more to possible damage but its a tradeoff.

That's a reasonable amount of money. Is that a complete head with valves and rocker gear?

Re: 95 bighorn heavy duty tie rod adjuster sleeves
It's not the adjusters that are weak it's the tierods themselves. Independent4x do an upgrade kit. They use Ford F150 tierods which are much larger and custom adjusters. The kit is pricey but comes complete with everything you need. You could source the tierods yourself and get adjusters machined an...

The stalk is a common failure point. If you have a multi meter you can test the stalk.

Re: Planing a 1uz into a ln130, i could use advise
Commy v6 and auto with Isuzu bighorn transfer case is a much simpler conversion. Motor is shorter and leaves room to run a decent radiator and fan. Don't forget driveshafts, exhaust, trans cross member, efi fuel pump and return lines and all the other bits and pieces that you need for a conversion. ...

Re: Long weekend 1st of June
Replaced the power steer high pressure line which was a lot harder than it needed to be and did some work on my front bar to incorporate some winch rope hoops. Also made a handbrake chock on a piece of rope. Isuzu handbrakes are terrible.

Wiper mounted nozzles clear quicker but in the mud a single pair of nozzles doesn't flow enough.
I have bonnet mounted stock ones and going to add some arm nozzles.

Re: Winch brake?
I can't manually pull the rope out when the free spool is disengaged as the gearing against the motor makes it impossible to turn.
Sounds like the solenoid might be faulty. Reverse the wiring from the battery and see if the winch works in reverse.

A swb diesel Mitzi Pajero is probably the most cost effective. Very capable stock and very tough. Cheap to buy.

Re: Legal limits for suspension lift
You can lift the front 80mm but you will have no down travel.
Ifs only has so much travel. More height is less droop. Got to have some droop.
A ball joint flip will help sort camber.

Re: Legal limits for suspension lift
Can't lift the front of a bighorn more than about 50mm so not much point lifting the rear 80mm
