took the shifter off... the rods were quite stiff, gave them a light tap, put the shifter back on and all good!!, gave the rods a light grease...sweet...

Take the shifter off and see if you can move the shift rods manually Does the shifter pop out oris it a pull the sucker to buts kinda job?? Na its easy as. Its like 4 bolts and the shifter comes off. The shift rods are external so you can see em. Then just play around with them and see if they move...

The transfer case levers work fine.. just the gear lever, it moves freely in neutral, just wont select any of the gears

Jammed up gearbox in my series LR

Hey all.

One minute i had gears now nothing, the leaver wont select anything for some reason. Ive tried gentle persuasion and harsh words but nothing apart from a slightly bent gear lever now... is this a common fault??

Previous motor had ALT on one side and P/S on the other, I need the P/S bracket shortening by about an inch and re-welding as the belt rubs on the thermostat housing :roll: :roll: and some kind of bracket to mount the alt.. Rightyo... Motors here, the only difference i can see is its a Xflow motor so carb is on the other side... Did a bit of work prepping old motor to come out. all thats left to do is pull starter off, bellhousing bolts and powersteering pump ands she should be just about ready... I'm thinking Staurday...
