Re: Wheel Spacers

What kind of strain would these put on everything else? And also can someone tell me if these would be equivalent of an ifs hub swap on a solid axle surf? Trailer my mud tyres everywhere so no major for the road legalness. It's the same as using a big offset wheel, or bigger offset hubs etc. It's t...

x6 nangkangs X7 For the Nankang 889's. In fact, I've now had 3 sets of these over the last 10 years or so, and never worn any out. I drive it to work every day, not far though, and up north and down south semi-regularly. Last well, and grip not too bad on or off road. A bit of noise...but it's a 4W...

Re: The wax terrano

I take it you'll be fitting lightened flywheel at same time as gearbox swap? Did you get it redrilled to take GTR style clutch? When I got my flywheel machined to suit my new clutch (a few years ago now) the specailists found that the flywheel had been machined wrong previously. I forget if it was ...

Re: Torsion bar locking clips are a b*stard

I posted it in another thread, but ..... I re-index mine at the front. After you've loosened the adjuster right off, undo the 3 bolts that hold the bar to the lower arm, slide the splined sleeve back along the bar till it's off the spline, turn it, slide it back on and bolt it back up. Much easier.....

Re: FYI - Terrano D21 Measurements

It's important to remember that you need to allow for a bit of compression of the bumpstops, particularly on the rear, where they have very long soft ones. You will kill shocks and probably crack/break the mounts if the shocks are too long and you start being a bit rough (jumps etc...)

OK, so I’ve finally got around to doing the torsion bar adjustment a couple of weeks ago. Looks much better now. Was fairly straight forward and no real problems encountered. Here is the procedure: (You can perform these steps to each side as you go or repeat once one side is completed) 1. Jack up ...

Re: D22 Ute - weak front end?

D22 is bad for cracking chassis around front suspension mounting brackets. Start is tiny hairline cracks, then get bad fast. Have to look real carefully to find it before it gets bad. According to nissan it only happens if bullbars fitted, but I've seen many cracking with no bullbars.... i've only ...

Re: national trials round 5 - dissapointing

Are you saying you were forced to attempt the course? Of course not. It is up to the competitors to decide wether or not to attempt a hazard at all, and if attempting a hazard, how far or how hard to take it. If you drive like a nut and break your vehicle in the process then you have no one to blam...

There's also a mod you can get done, the ltsa have a brace that can be welded in, then you cert it......should cost 6-700 all up.
Dunno 'bout the petrols, but mine's been fairly idiotproof, brace the idler and they're ok if it's done properly but otherwise no real probs.

I've done two of 'em, mine which has a topmount and bonnet scoop, and another which had a small mazda unit behind the headlight. They work well on these.
