Re: Diesel issues
White smoke is unburnt fuel black smoke is over fueled(hence I suspected from what you describe the spill is under full load at idle) cranking it over would have injected fuel in at the wrong time( compression not high enough to combust it)/so it might sound daft bit check the timing again

Re: long range fuel tank KZJ78?
Forgive my ignorance as i am not a toyota man, but i used to have a lwb pajero that had twin tanks, the standard one in the rear that held 80 litres and the second from an L200 ute retro fitted between the left chassi rail and drive shaft (65L). they were linked via a solenoid and even had a lift pu...

well atleast if ya went billet crank you could have the bearing journals bored out on the block and run larger journals over size bearings to give the crank more meat/strength where its needed.

well the instrument cluster is 12 volt, so it's on the 12 volt side of the 24/12 volt reducer.
does that narrow it down a bit for ya
but that's only if it's a 24 volt saf?

well after a few weeks took it for a round trip 140km's today with trailer on and it would seem the trans doesn't seem to like the extra power too much, about half way home the A/T temp light came on so pulled over and flicked the fans on manual with the trans in neutral to chill it back down (the A...

Post up a picture of each AFM plug. Although the AFM isn't plugged in you should still be able to start it up it will just throw up the engine check light. The body plug in question from memory only has two wires that are required and one of them was white with red stripe will have to double check t...

If ya pulling the box apart to.get the parts then pretty much any rwd /4wd Automatic nissan from that era will have what ya want
Good e.t.i transmissions are hard to find and command a price as they have an issue that basically requires a trans on bench rebuild.

45 shouldn't be an issue. Stick a socket on the crank and turn it over by hand once or twice just to make sure.

On the R50 the AFM and coolant temp wires are taped in with the main passenger side body loom and come out around the same place as the alternator and ac clutch wires. Starter, temp gauge, oil switch are in the drivers side body loom. Everything else is in the center loom that goes straight to the ...

Another option is just to buy a running swb chassis with all the drive line and power train still attached and fit a newer cab to it from a later model ute., bloke in Aussie recently completed a full body swap of a 2011 triton cab and well side onto a lwb td42-t powered frame.
