Re: Rough estimation of hp after mods...

I have seen on other trucks they do respond well to a weber carb and some fine tuning Surely though with all you mentioned that would cost $1500? Exhaust alone would be $700? They go good on 33s, I've had 1, the only time I needed more power was hill climbs when I needed control over the pedal, ie: ...

In short, if its a good conversion, you can't go wrong

If you plan to wheel it you would want to get a custom rear pick up sump made as these starv of oil when on crazy angles for lengths of time.

Re: 1994 Pathfinder Build

Good to see actual progress with something that initially was a big task and a bit outside the box.. All to often projects start off big and then slowly fade away ( mine included) Your motivation should be huge now its running. Shame tho about max boost at high revs, not ideal for wheeling, hopefull...

Re: Auckland Region tracks of Andy Cockroft's book

If your adamant you want to try Sim road then go have a look. Talk to the farmer first, there's a few houses right there, but don't be pushy if you think he's getting iffy about it, the road isn't worth it, most that would go there would only be going to do skids.. Its not scenic to justify the driv...

Re: Auckland Region tracks of Andy Cockroft's book

Thing is with Sim road its a dead end road that ends at an old bridge that you can't cross as its rotted out, so it leads to no where. Its in the middle of farm land. Technically you could enter, its only a wire fence. It's basically just a 1km cattle race

Re: Auckland Region tracks of Andy Cockroft's book

Sim road is a short but gnarly little road, haven't been there for a few years but the farmer does fence it off and have his cows in there often. Definitely not worth a trip if your after something scenic, its just a rough clay track covered with gorse n cow shit but for what it is its pretty rough ...

Re: Pajero ideas.

Its a paj with a locked diff, if it doesn't get thru first go. Reverse up n do it again faster. It won't break easy.

My opinions with what you got especially with the diff lock, is all you need is a good set of muds and a winch and you couldn't ask for more realy.

Just pushing a bit of oil into catch can.
Otherwise started effortlessly, no smoke, hummed all day long

Edit: initially it was sluggish but intake clean and fuel tweak fixed that

What ide do is use ur existing bonnet as a plug, shape that as you want, get it right then from that produce a mould then from that you can produce your new bonnet. Time consuming and probably more than $225 tho

Re: 1994 Pathfinder Build

Since your doing that. Weld in a bulkhead behind the rear seats, with a window, so its then like a ute with a canopy. U could even properly seal the side pockets then you could hose it out. Get rid of both rear side windows for air flow etc

Re: How to prevent 1KZ-TE head cracking?

First and foremost. Get a radiator from redline off trademe. Thicker core alloy, 40% more cooling, and service the viscous fan n be sure its humming. Then there's the other small bits you do that others will chime in on but I believe those first 2 are the most important and will give biggest gains. ...

For that price you can not go wrong.
Ide be all over that if I had the cash, that's cheap for the money spent. You pay $6k for a tidy standard challenger.

That would be extremely capable.
You can not go wrong.
