Re: Towing Capacity

if you look up the nzta site the book says (or used to say) that the vehicles braked or unbraked maximum tow rating dosent apply, what does apply is you have to be able to stop in X distance at X speed. If your towing on a car licence you cant exceed the maximum weight for that class (still 5000kg I...

Re: PRADO 120 - temp going up with hills

if you have any temp concerns you'll have to do as grey ghost advised and install a stand alone temp gauge, Toyota gauges wont show you or give an indication of engine temp they have a flat spot in them to indicate cold, normal range or too late :D Engines work harder climbing hills so you would exp...

Re: can i do this with my hilux SAS?

The other way to get the caster angle right is to lower the height of the axle stand under the diff pinion :D theres no need to chop up perfectly good radius arms its piss easy make the links out of a length of tube mate then you get them all at the correct length to work for your application

Re: TYRE/WHEEL SIZE - 15in OR 16in ?

15 or 16 is only rim size not overall tyre size mate so nah it doesn't work like that :D , there is larger range of tyres available in 15 inch than 16 inch on the NZ market and 15 inch tyres are usually a little cheaper than 16 inch because of their more readily availability, but some people have to...

that's a bit unusual for a front mount radiator mate air rises so there shouldn't be anywhere to trap it, did you run the engine for a bit with the cap off so the thermostat could open and burp the air and circulate the coolant

as the above posts mate water ingress causes the shaft to rust up and bind onto the drum, just do a gentle winch with the freespool open/or removed and it'll break free easily :D then you can pull it all apart and clean and lube everything up :D
