Fridays are easier to get of work as well. Camp Sat night at lake brunner and i would should be finished up at...

The Biggest thing to remember on these tracks is that if it looks tricky, STOP!!! Don't just point and go, thats how you do damage. As for the water, well it is summer, but syaing that the westcoast gets all seansons in a day most days, so you never can tell. Napoleans hill is fine even in the rain,...

Yep, it would be fine!!! If you got the chance, pull the running boards off, its only 6 bolts to undo per side, as one of the tracks up Deniston has about four rock steps in it and i have seen a 4dr Bighorn bend its running boards on one of them. Surfs are quite a bit higher though, and personally i...

I wonder why they didn't mention that you only really needed new rear springs to gain the lift?? You can very very easily adjust the torsion bars in the front to match the 2" gain in height at the rear. Torsion bars by nature become stiffer as you wind them up, so they would also match the 20% incre...

I'm having a bit of a stress, do i get the genuine thrust washers or aftermarket?? Seeing as we are dealing with 0.1mm per washer to correct the end float, would it be worth risking the aftermarket ones not quite being on spec?? Or is this just me being paranoid, aftermarket will be fine. Can you ge...

Ok, well there is a poll up there, but i wanted to run a second poll to see who wanted to go on what side of the weekend, but i can't, so never mind. Sort that one out as we go i guess. There is no reason why people couldn't show up for just the Saturday and Sunday. We would have to be a bit more or...

Was waiting to see what time people had available. Any time in Jan suits me, but for the rest i reckon we try to run so that at least two of the days fall on a weekend, that would mean people could just come out for the saturday and sunday, and the rest of us be there for the friday before or the mo...

Done that already :D makes no difference. Compression test good. Oil pressure good. Sump came of yesterday. Thrust washers are knackered as i expected. Max end float is supposed to be 0.4mm, and i got as far as .65mm before i ran out of feeler guages, so fingers crossed!!! Bearings all look pristene...

Anybody think they know alot about diesels???

Any of you guys mechanically minded?? I have a strange engine noise ive been trying to diagnose in my TD42. Im on the brink of replacing the mains, big ends and thrust washers out of desperation. Its a sharp irregular rapping sound on idle (600rpm) up to about 1200rpm. Only present when the engine i...

Steel Spockey Factory Safari Rims

I have a set or four Standard steel Nissan Safari rims that are surplus to requirements. They are 6 stud, 15 X 7. The offset would be perfect for an IFS vehicle as your off road rims. The offset is just right to put the tyres just at the edge or just out side the guards. Work well, and quite commonl...
