if your going to pull the coilovers out and go to standard coil springs you can pretty much use whatever you want and weld the new mounts onto the chassis at the point that gives you the desired ride height your wanting

^^^ yeah winch.co.nz sold more than their fair share of inferior ropes, probably sweet for the occasional user or townie poser but not good for much else :D :D

never tried that UHMWPE stuff but you can generally rest assured warren doesn't sell junk products at 4wdbits his products are good and he provides consistently good aftersales service if you do run into problems with a product, I've been through a lot of winchropes over the years and found the Chin...

if you want a reliable rope buy from an amsteel or similar dynema dealer/distributor, if you want the cheapest rope get one of those Chinese ones they make out of munched up recycled plastic bags :D

if its an analogue speedo the easiest way is to make up a new sticker with the 10, 20, 30 40 etc in the correct places and stick that on the faceplate over the old numbers, you'd be surprised how original and good or better you can get it to look with a bit of time spent on paint or whatever program...

they are called "work lamps" mate and they are permitted on most classes of vehicles including whatever you've got, its all detailed on the nzta site if you go back and have a look :D

any compressor you should be running a pressure switch, whether your Chinese one comes with one or not I don't know, they are readily available in 85-105 psi. setting the diff up ie installing C&P and setting preload, mesh and backlash isn't a DIY job and can easily result it the diff eventually going "bang" but installing the diff into the truck once its been set up is an easy DIY job :D

the drum is just a cast cylinder and effectively symmetrical so reversing the rotation wont make the drum any less strong the thing that breaks them is the way you load them, as posted above somewhere you'll have to lift your fairlead so its guiding the rope to the top of the drum not the bottom and...

when its up at operating temperature the oil is hot and thins down and makes for easier shifting, you could live with it or try an oil change if you haven't already tried it there could be any grade of oil in there?

are all the bushes flogging out or just on the left hand radius arm you chopped up, if your only using standard shocks and aren't using extra travel/flex you could try putting an unchopped radius arm back in that side, must be something going on with the geometry if your flogging stuff out in the ma...

if they pre-drill them there are 2 different brake backing plate bolt patterns for 40 series full floaters 4 bolt and 8 bolt so would pay to check what one you have before you order :D
