Te Beginning of te snorkel.
So, thinking about my snorkel, I want to re-route it so instead of doing a silly S bend infront of the battery, it goes straight out the side. Well, straight except for a 75mm offset. This also (hopefully) gives me space to hang another (12v) alternator off. Anyway. round peg square hole, not much t...

Re: balancing beadlocks?
Yep i started to do it that way but found that the adjacent bolts were finger loose after torgueing the bolt up. The most reliable way that ive found is what i described above. Ive been running beadlocks for several years now with no issue. Well, the proof is in the pudding, so I guess if it works....

Re: balancing beadlocks?
the idea is to tighten up all the bolts in a progressive rotation pattern, as they are only m6 bolts and a steel inner bead that is drilled and taped, dont go crazy with the spanner. As an engineer, that horrfies me. Is that standard practice??? Typically anything round with PCD bolts gets tightene...

Re: Indicator faults?
Go and spend that $80 on a multimeter. Then you're looking for voltage at the plug, if not, then continuity in the wires, trace it back until you find the problem. Electronics is a bit like bread-board kits for big-kids. You just can't fix it with a hammer. I have noticed a few 20A "automotive&...

SD33 box vs TD42 - PTO?
As the title suggests I am wondering if the PTO set up on an SD33 (4x4, Manual) will fit in with a TD42 (4x4, Manual).
I believe the TD is FS5R50A but unsure what box the SDs run?

Re: Thomsy's Twuk: The Never Ending Story.
A bit of a blow-by-blow picture diary of running the wiring for alarm and central locking. 1) Remove door cards - generally, one screw behind the handle, two in the arm rest, one in the ash tray, then there's the clip that holds the window winder. The rest are pop-off connectors around the perimeter...

Well, The continuity to the cluster checks out, But I'm left with "now what?" Pic shows the rear of the cluster the top 2 pins (indicated) are the ones that the sensor feeds, the third is also connected to the rev gauge, but it doesn't come from anywhere I can poke. (maybe an a/t signal?) ...

Re: Thomsy's Twuk: The Never Ending Story.
I had the same problem with that square hose on mine. Probably stretches from years of heat. When I put a snorkel on I siliconed the pipe on to make sure it was sealed. The best way I have seen if your good at welding thin steel is to cut that whole square section off the airbox and profile a piece...

Today: Intake, and more 12v. Is there a gasket or something that is supposed to be in the square connection just before the air cleaner? Re: Half of the Volts, and "name that thing"
You will still draw off one to charge the 3rd one, better to run a 12v reducer to the charger for the 3rd or even better a separate 12v alternator. Re: Half of the Volts, and "name that thing"
I run a redarc charge equaliser to manage the batteries individually and just run 12v stuff off one battery in the 24v system. Been working well for the last 5 years. I saw those. But at $600, I was hoping to make use of things I have lying around already! I see 20A 24-12v units for $130 so that ma...

I dont like the imbalance, but it's what I've got. (1 - Is it worth swapping the batteries over to exercise t...
