Re: tyre shop rant
I'm in a tyre shop. I'll always listen to what people tell me, give them a price on what they ask for, and offer advice on the legality of it, and suggest anything I feel is a worthwhile alternative. It's what we do. I have worked for another big tyre company in the past, and their policy is ...

Yes, unless the bolts run out of adjustment. Then you need to re-index them. I'd say unless you're into jumping it a lot, the stock bars will be ok.

Hey with the size of the tapper do I measure it at the top or the bottom? Just measure the taper where it goes into both the pitman and the idler, if they are both the same, then you are ok. If they are different, you will need to get a 91-92 pitman. Ok so which pitman arm am I measuring? the one o...

Re: Terrano upgrade
Don't. The D21 is heaps better. Front shocks (Mcpherson struts) always shit themselves, rear trailing arm bushes need to be replaced with eurethane (the stock ones are too voided and crap out all the time) rear shocks too (lower bushes...bonded). If all those are done you may end up with a nice litt...

Re: TD27 Bigger Turbo?
You also have to remember that the turbo charger from a RB25 for example is designed to spool up higher in the rev range due to propeller and impeller design, when bolted to a diesel will give you are rather large low down flat spot on a similar capacity oil burner. Don't bother with RB turbos, the...

Re: how do i wind back my speedo on a 1991 terreno
Mines a 1990, i took the dash unit out, unscrewed the speedo unit out, with a screw driver, i opened the mount on the back that holds avset of white gears that stop the numbers from being moved externally. Once that is moved , the numbers will jz roll freely, so adjusted it to the value i desire, t...

I welded 10X50mm flat to the chassis on mine, then tapped some 12mm threads into them, to which I bolted on another 10X50mm flat to which has the sliders welded to them. Rock solid and removable.

Re: Bypass shocks OR Coilovers?
Go with the coil overs. Articulation and off road racing are almost at opposite ends of the setup scale for springs. Articulation = soft, off road racing = firm to hard. Shocks can be setup pretty firm for off road racing, and firm shocks it won't make that much difference when going relatively slo...

Muscle the UCA off the balljoint. If you do the step below first, it'll be much easier... 4. To make things easier later, loosen the nuts on either end of the spindle Some people say that rubber bushings give better flex, personally I think thats getting a bit stupid. Not in this case, the arm does...

You made your own arms. I would love to see them. I have thought about that myself. did you did you make them a bit longer ??? Link in reply 2 posts up. Pretty sure you measure pitman taper from the top, apparently 1992 and after, taper was slightly larger, also on steering knuckles too. Not much larger but enough to f**k the balljoint on your new centre link. I think its awesome you guys have the skills to fab your own control arms, all good with ...

First, where you at?
It can be a little tricky, but I've done 'em at home (two lots) with a vice and a hammer. Doesn't take long once you know what you're doing.
I run Nolathane in mine...wouldn't use rubber again.
