Re: Expedition 4x4 - what's best?

In terms of usable interior space , there are only two options , Labdrover Defender 110 or Toyota Landcruiser Troop carrier . You loose the headroom to sit-up properly in all the others, as soon as you build the bed platform up over the wheel arches . Hi-roof Safari GQ /GU would be next best but a l...

Re: WOF

Only issue I see is the front dislocation cones . Springs have to be retained or held by mounts at full droop on the hoist . They might also pull you up on any aftermarket steering components . and possibly require new brake hoses , pads and rotors . I would go with factory rims and tyre size ie 235...

Re: kzn130 with 33" tyres

you can run 33's on a surf with just 2" of Lift , ie suspension or Body . With no body lift you will need to cut the seam out of the bottom corner of the firewall and re-plate it . With body lift you can just bash the seam over . With -19 15x8s and 33x12.5 you should get no rub . If I did one a...

Short Wheel Base , Light Jimny . Not a good combination for on-road autolocker manners .
Awesome off-road if you can live with the bangs , clunks and lurches around tight turns onroad.

Nice Fab Work!
Are you going to brace the corners back to the Chassis?
If you hit some thing as they are, the corner will fold back and the wrap around bars will munch the guard behind.
Don't ask me how I know this :?

Re: learn me Disco style's

Great debating this. You can modify a Disco a whole lot easier to match a Defender off road than you can modify a Defender to get close to a Disco on-road. Considering , Both the defender and Disco have essentially exactly the same axles / running gear underneath , One would assume that they would ...

If your vehicle did not come from factory with a front license plate , then legally you do not have to fit one . ie vintage cars / sports cars / old 4wd's etc etc the info is on the NZTA web site if you dig for it . However most police officers will pull you over and disagree ..... Even when you sho...

That is a decent price for a set like that! to put it in perspective the RJ45 (Network) crimper i just brought for work cost me over $300 the cheaper ones don't cut it and the die's go out of alignment over time . having said that , for most automotive stuff (apart from battery) I normally pull off ...
