Re: Kiwipete's VX
What others have said re the antifreeze is correct just make sure you use one or the other, as I have seen red and green mixed before and it can go jelly like. When working on new Toyotas red yota coolant was always used. Also amount of antifreeze I always stick with 2.0l engine 2.0l antifreeze, 4.2...

Best bets probably getting a 350 smogger off that v8 joint in chch, take all the injection emmisions shit off, throw a manifold carb combo at it.

Olds have had one since new, currently 110,000kms. Mitsi replaced ecu at around 20,000kms due to surging. Great truck, real good kms/l front suspension is soft.

285/305 both quite wide tyres. I prefer a narrow tall tyre but each to there own, On a challenger Id probably go 265/75/16.

yeah, I´ve seen it before, was why I believed to be in the right place here. so your automatic box just fitted the 1uzfe. I am curious about your shift paddle and how that works. i visited the website you posted for it and believe to understand how it should work. what is your experience and what a...

Re: Austrian KZJ78 conversion to 1UZ-FE?
Yup done it, fits just need 1uzfe bellhousing torque converter and pump. Swap them onto your A340 trans and your good to go, just need to run a Aisin warner ecu from a jeep or manualize your trans. Might be some info in my build thread: http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t...

Re: HVLP air spray guns and paint
Laquer just isnt as durable, takes alot more coats etc. Personally Id use 2k or base coat clear coat, especially if your wanting to keep the truck. Laquer is f all easier to spray then 2k, in fact Id say modern 2k is easiest, sets up quick and if you fuk up next day you can block it back and redo. B...

Im sure theres a spraystore in chch talk to them or RJ Patersons, I buy all my paint n panel supplies thru RJs. Best and easiest would be epoxy the bare steel, bog whatever needs bogged then epoxy again, block back and paint. Its what I do and what all other guys not on an unlimited budget do. When ...

How cheap are you thinking? I cant think of any 4wd petrol utes that are economical. Early petrol navaras/hiluxs/b2000 are underpowered and chew alot of gas. Only ones I can think of would be a suzuki, even the later jimny utes still sell fir good $$$. Good luck.

Replaced thermostat today, disconnected the rear heater lines and flushed heater lines again, still no hot air from the heater so tomorrows job will be ripping out the heater core I guess. Guess its just mounted inside heater box like old cars?

Cheers Callum, just read up how to increse the fuel. Ill fit an egt gauge then crank the fuel up a bit. Leave the boost at 15psi, Id hate to see how slow it is with less boost..

13b-t Too Much Boost?
Ive just picked up a Bj74 Landcruiser with the 13bt powerhouse in it, previous owner has done bigger exhaust, intercooler and upped the boost to 15psi although hasnt touched the fuel side.
Is 15psi too high for these or safe?
Ill look at cranking the fuel up a bit once I pick it up.
Cheers Justin

Re: Maybe moving from Aus to NZ and want to bring my truck
Its fairly easy, alot of imports coming in from Aus these days, your mods will be no problem, itll get a low volume cert done on import for lift etc. I know of a ZD30 patrol recently imported so Im pritty sure itll meet our emmisions laws. Below is a link for all you need to know. http://www.nzta.go...
