Re: Nissan trans ecu compatibility
Sooo just to re-cap for future reference.
The silver ecu replacement worked fine.
I have all gears now.
Bloody relief to originally thinking it was a trans replacement jobby..
Only problem now is the kickdown isn't working but I will look at adjusting that.
Speedo works too

Need to replace the trans comp in my d21 diesel auto, 1995, last of the d21 I've found another comp out of the same vehicle but 2 years older, same trans, the numbers on the 2 computers are only different by the last 2 numbers on the Nissan number and only 1 number different on the component number....

Re: Best Battery Tool Brand
Definalety can't look past the ryobi li ion 18v range for home use, even good for industrial use. But for the price you pay you can buy a full kit with extra batteries for what you might only get 2 tools if it were makita... I'm a makita man but unless your using your tools all day every day, the ry...

3rz-fe motor.
Factory Toyota
Bolts up to your existing gearbox.
Just need to make new engine mounts, plus wiring etc, but easier than a comy 6.
These pop up on trade me now n then for the same price as a comy 6..
Comy 6 you need to buy an adaptor kit =$2000
3rz you dont

Re: removing commy v6 for 1kz in ln106 hilux
Yea mate, say you do 2000ks.
The 1kz mite do 500ks a tank and the comy 400ks, that's only 1 extra tank of gas, taking into account difference in price your only saving a couple hundy $$$.
You sure its worth the hassle?

We have a dive tank already converted. Its either certed or can be, its standard full size though, I thought it would be bigger than 700mm. But if 700mm is standard then it must be that, I'm in pukekohe but??

Are you kidding? This is a one-box (of beer) job to DIY. Drop the drive shafts, unbolt trans and slide it back, replace clutch bits, refit, drive on! If you have the tools and a gopher it can be done before lunch. If you want to do the pilot bearing and flywheel, plan ahead and buy the bearing, fin...

So I purchased said terrano... Shit another terrano
There's no 3rd or 4th gear at all. Put it in drive and it slips big time..
Worth fixing up though, its a 2 door d21 with the facelift interior and black top motor

Re: replaceing front leaf springs with rears
So what happens is you need to lengthen the shackles so the spring clears the chassis. You will notice when fiited with standard shackles the spring is also pressed up against chassis. Lengthen shackles. Then as you mentioned the pinion angle is out so you weld a new front cross member in (50mm) whi...

Re: replaceing front leaf springs with rears
When you have read people putting the rears up front it is because you gain more flex while also being able to move the diff forward, 2 birds 1 stone.
Its a lot more work than just slapping the springs in, but well worth the effort.

Why not a 1" body lift?
Factory suspension and steering geometry isn't altered in any way, will still handle and feel the same.
That and mod ur factory lift to stay at high level
