Re: A Short History of Progress – Harvey’s Wrangler
Well, the new brakes work a treat... on and off road... The handbrake cables needs proper crimps on the ends. The one's i had done first time round weren't in the correct position. so i added adjustments with some wire crimps... they worked well, with the 'delicate' application of the handbrake whil...

I agree, It still amazes me where they are able to go... and come back from... I was like you when i got mine... A stock TJ... ventured up to Woodhill... and i got dragged through some pretty rough tracks... I was shocked at what she could do with road tires... When you get mud tires, it will be lik...

Re: Winch Batteries. recommendations?
Sorry to bring up an old thread... but... Im on the hunt for a new battery. My current 600CCA battery has been in the Jeep since i got her near 3 years ago. (only knows how old it is, but that doesn't really matter, as im getting a new one anyway). Sometimes the Simex don't work, so i use the winch ...

Re: WTB - Off road rims for TJ
I went with the 15 * 8 from Warren for my TJ. solely because i went with 33 * 10.5 Silverstones... Depending on what tire you plan on, will dictate the required rims... if you go for a 33 * 12.5 tire, you will need a 15 * 10 rim, as (correct me if im wrong) you need a minimum 8.5" rim for a 12....

If the stuff you are looking to bring in, is on the large side/heavier side, have a look at Advanced Four Wheel Equipment. i used them to bring in my Lift Kit. and a mate also used them. fairly straight forward. They bring in containers from the states about 6 - 8 times a year. Have a look here. htt...

Excuse my terminology... i don't really do cars... Anyway... my output shaft on the steering box on my TJ was leaking quite badly. I replaced the whole box with one from an XJ, but it leaked just as bad. Long story short, i ended up getting a seal kit from quadratec for next to nothing (comparativel...

Re: A Short History of Progress – Harvey’s Wrangler
i asked for 10 x EA Falcon wheel studs from the parts shop... but i think i got 5 x EA and 5 x BA.
the BA ones don't fit...
Long story short, i ended up getting new studs today.
Both sides are done, brake lines on...
just need to bleed them, and set up the handbrake cable...
Fingers crossed...

Not quite.
Just need 5 longer wheel studs.
The ones I got, must have been from a BA, as the are too small...
Tomorrow, or at worst next Saturday I'll get to pressure her up...
But hopefully only an hour left...
