Tailgate is quite easy to fix but tweaking the rubber mount to amke the door shut tighter. mine doesn't rattle anymore but my wife cannot open it its that tight! Find some good corrugations and you'll soon find the dash rattles  , the really bad ones will turn your wipers on for you! I got my e...

Re: West Coast 4WD

Thanks Steve,Keith, twodiffs, I have worked out where green hut and tailing tracks are again, and the rest I am familiar with, time to make the paint a bit duller.

I have never done liverpool Bills, what sort of grade track is that and how overgrown is it?

Waikaia Bush Road / Old man range

Last weekend after going on one of our longest off road trips (140km off road) we got one hell of a surprise to see a digger on the Old Man Range doing work on the track. For those that know this road it's very rough with deep water holes which often lead to vehicle recoveries, none more dramatic th...

Re: Mace town track vs std 90 series prado

He won't need rated hooks or another vehicle. It's a track suitable for a standard factory vehicle. Just go when the river is running clear and low which is most of the time. Enter the water crossing slowly and there will be no trouble. Other option is to wait at the start for another vehicle to com...

Re: lets see ya camping set ups

Could you adapt a fox wing type to fold from the back and round the side?
What model Engel did you get? We are looking at fridges at the moment, dometic/waeco seem to be hard to beat price wise with smiths city farmlands discount.

You probably know this but you will need 16 in rims to clear the callipers or a large offset white spoke or grind the outside of the calliper down.

The stubs are the same , the bigger brakes have a larger disc and calliper but the mounting holes are the same.

Let me know what the upgrade is like, I have a jtop set in the shed as well and have never got round to it.

Re: 2017 Mainland Challenge Rules?

Sure is, that's why you always set a course easier than you think, as soon as you add a stop watch a medium course becomes hard due to red mist!! We did have one vehicle roll onto its side through driver error but the only way that wouldn't have happened would be if he stayed in bed!!

Re: 2017 Mainland Challenge Rules?

Discussion ongoing I think, debating if Clubman should be non cage so beginners can have a crack, but then the courses need to be set very safe so no chance of rolls but its not really winch challenge then, more just a mudplug. That's a bit of a generalisation right there - a 'entry level' winch ch...

Re: how to get rid of spiders / cockroachers from your car

Do you have a knapsack sprayer or even a small 2 litre type pump sprayer? Buy some spider chemical from a rural supplies store (or maybe mitre10 etc), mix that up and spray it in door jams, mirrors etc and they will run out. It's what the fly &a spider control people use for houses and it goes g...

It is a defender.....just depends on the year it was made....it was either a 110 or after 83???.... was badged a defender. Either way technically he's correct in calling it a defender as it is a 85 so defender by default. Yea na. Defenders didn't exist before 1990 so this is a Land Rover 110. Seems...

Yours is the NM (as opposed to the MN you typed) but like you I'd be very certain they are the same, assuming yours in not the GDi motor. But having clicked on the link I might not be so sure?? Its soft enough on bumps but still a bit 'harsh' on small bumps, i don't know if this is due to the shock or just the suspension g...

Have a look under the bonnet and see what the build plate says on the line trans axle. It'll say something like V5MT1 4.875.
