Re: Any Interest in FOX AIR SHOCKS
Not at the moment but i have a speed racer project planed for the future Would you use them for a speed racer application? I know they are used as coil over air shocks in some front ends for racers, but generally they same to be avoided in speed oriented stuff (I believe because of changing spring ...

Re: D21, Worth diff locking?
You would see most benefit from a front locker I suspect. As others have said the rear end is already pretty good (so I'm told). If you can afford it a selectable locker is def the way to go for the front. People seem to be getting good runs with the Chinese ARB copies (worth considering if you can'...

Anyone have a gps video camera recemendation ? I trialed a GoBandit. It was good besides a few prototype kind of issues. I could be wrong but I believe Sony purchased GoBandit to create their GPS camera's. Contour also make a GPS camera. I have a non-GPS Contour that I like (but as above, for head ...

Re: Gopro or similar
I have a Contour (Same profile as the Sony). I bout it instead of a GoPro as I thought it's shape would be better on a helmet. It's ok but if you are wearing goggles etc (I ski) then it's actually a pain). I later purchased a GoPro, and using the little "J arm" mount (which I think they co...

Thanks guys. Some good points in there.
The car will be 99% prepped when I get there (in theory) and I'll have Friday arvo to mess with it. Will look over your suggestions and see what I can achieve in an arvo.
Thanks.

Kaipoi repowers mate.
I don't know them personally but everyone on facebook seems to love them and I have seen a few instances of the owners being pretty damn helpful, going out of their way etc.

So my mate who used to co drive for me bought a couple of cars and now I'm driving in the demo derby at Baypark speed way on Saturday the 9th.
Any advice or words of warning from people who have done one before?
Also, very slim chance, anyone got a good neck brace for sale?

Yep. Suzuki case to step up pto speed. 2:1 (basically).
Two trucks down here already do it (you've probably seen both. Leigh's orange double cab lux and Mike's red single cab lux. Both have raced up north). Doesn't seem like a bright idea on paper but seems to work ok in practice.

Re: Saf sprite steerng box
Mounting a ram on the front and leaving the tie rod in place is not ideal because it would use a single ended ram. You really want a double ended ram such that the piston surface area and bore volume is the same size for both directions. This will give you equal strength and speed steering in both d...

Where and when? I possibly can, though what level of expertise are you after? I'm not a mechanic, but not a gumby either (building a comp truck, do my own timing belts etc).

Also you just effectively asked for a shock with over 16" of travel. That's no small ask.
Maybe these?

(just run them as a shock, not as a coil over).

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
I suspect you wont get anything for those dimensions. You are looking for big travel/closed length ratio. You'll have to compromise on one of those measurements. 900-490 = 410 travel. 410/490 is 84%. As an example a 125mm lift efs extreme for the rear of an 80 series is 695 open, 400 closed, therefo...

35's & D30's do not play nicely together. Even D44's are marginal for big rubber. I keep hearing this, but Sav ran a basically stock (or actually stock?) D30 front end on his jeep with 35" Silvys and never had a diff issue (and won all the bloody competitions). So I guess it comes down to ...
