I'll guess I'll just have to fit electric fans now, oh dear how sad (ha ha) Rat Then you could add a switch to turn it off and on when crossing water, not so much water would get sprayed around the engine bay then. Don't they recommend that you take your fan belt off when doing water crossings :?: ...

Is the kopu/hikuai road the one between Thames and Pauanui? If so then maybe you started up the tracks out of the book? Are these tracks as hard yakker as the thompsons track? Do you know of any others around tauranga besides the thompsons mud slog?

Tranzit van was abit light in the rear end and all the rain here lately didnt help the road tyres. The slope was only a...

So I take it you are stuck in 4wd then? If you cannot get back into high range without the selector down then this is high range 4wd in a land rover. Try posting on one of these landrover forums. Don't think there are to many landrover experts on here at the moment. NZ landrover email http://autos.g...

Speaking of winches, have you thought about going hydraulic? you can winch all day and all week 8O http://www.4wdworld.com.au/products/maxidrive/hydraulicunit.htm I'm looking at this for my old landy, since I'm not running 35's, no lockers, no coils and so would be winching 10 times more than anyone...
