Re: RE4R01A Manual Shifter
Just for reference, I'll add the TCU pinouts. Am thinking of utilizing the existing wiring. Would be nice to have the option of full manual or normal. Possibly by relay shutting off the circuit for pins 28-(Power to TCU), and the circuits for pins 21, 22, 35, 36 and 7 and manually controlling these,...

Re: RE4R01A Manual Shifter
the other idea i have to investigate and i havent put here is lock up of the torque converter in any gear then dumping the line pressure by way of a momentary switch to change gears as apposed to unlocking the t/c changing gears/ then relocking it. I wouldn't recommend this, the standard TC is not ...

Re: Rear rad water temp
I do have air problems .if i drain the system .it seem to take a lot off effort to bleed it out . Definitely fix this, if not fully bleed then your flow will be terrible. If you know where the air is accumulating you could install some air bleed valves. We have a few on our water filtration system ...

Do you have an air pocket in the pipes somewhere, or depending on your layout could the flow of the pump be battling against a mild thermosyphon effect?

Re: RE4R01A Manual Shifter
Hey Crash
Do you have any issues with PARK or NEUTRAL? Would need to make sure the trans at least moves to NEUTRAL in order to shift the transfer from 2WD to 4WD.
Is that what you are doing with the inhibitor switch?

Oh yeah, one other thing. Wouldn't mind finding out which holes are enlarged in the separator plate to fix the flow problems.

RE4R01A Manual Shifter
So I've been doing some research and wanted to be able to shift the RE4R01A trans into any gear and hold it there. This experiment is in a Nissan Terrano, coupled to a TD27T. (Some info copy and pasted from various sources) Things to consider: - Management of the TCU / ECU (if bypassing its control ...

Re: Operation Terrano
Hi Dan, found some good information and will put it in another thread. It's just an opinion of a few people but their ideas were to just disconnect the line pressure solenoid, which would allow full pressure through the trans at all times. Would make the shifts harder, but would also help solve the ...

I gave in..... After failing the WOF due to bushes in the idler, (even though they were bronze) I swapped in the second steering box. The feel of the steering is sooo much stiffer. No play at all. Normally when you've just hammered it through some rutted, rocky mess it feels like the wheel alignment...

Re: Toughening up Terrano WD21 Front End
Looks good, if I do say so myself. Yeah you could probably through another washer on the backside, if you want to, then also insert another sleeve to compensate for the extra meat you have just added and stop too much additional compression on the bushes. I've been following these guys on facebook a...

Welded up a few modifications to the bike carrier, now it slides straight inside the hitch nicely.
Got the daughters motorcross bike on there for the trip tomorrow, lets she how she goes in the club comps.
Looks quite funny, The backpack and expedition truck.

I've got many contacts over there that have posted stuff on my behalf back to NZ. Depending on how convenient the item is to handle, they might be willing to receive and forward it.
Otherwise I know a freight forwarder there that can help.

Cheers everyone for the replies. I've got 5.5m of 2.5" pipe to play with, so I'll do a straight pipe first and then bung a muffler in after if the sound is a bit much. By the way, if you ever need a flange cut for the garrett turbo (kidney shaped) exhaust outlet, then these guys now have the pa...
