As far as I am aware you could use any Oil temp gauge doesn't have to be a trans one, only making up a fitting to attach it somehow would be the hard part. At a guess Id say you want it in the oil feed to the cooler as this will be the hot oil out of the box.

The ZD one being the bigger connector and the one that matches the truck (which I will graft onto the QD loom once Ive sorted out what goes where. The ZD one has an oddball triangle shape flange but I can give you the manifold and the dump pipe if you wanted to copy the flanges. Strange that you mention that it's always had a shudder when the torque converter locks but I just figured buggered lockup clutch so will use the converter from the QD. Again it would explain the noise, but not the massive blowby tho lol

Dropped a bottom end bearing and changing to a QD32 so if anyone needs any ZD30 bolt on bits let me know everything else is good turbo is mint etc.
Also need a QD32 or TD27 air con compressor (ETI if there is any difference)
