Re: What are Isuzu D-Max Utes Like?

rangers/bt50 and tritons have e-locker rear diffs. dmax probably still have the old plate style LSD that all the isuzu utes have had for ages. good diffs. I have the precurser to the D-Max (09 colorado 2wd) as a work ute. have put about 60km on it. I don't drive the balls off it but I get the most o...

Re: WTB: Honda CT90/110

yeah mate would plan to slap a set of better tyres on and give them a good going over.
Pretty much jut plan to get them for cruising over some of the tracks that're around that are a bit small or treacherous for the ol' landy.

Re: WTB: Honda CT90/110

yeah those lifan motors will in theory bolt straight in to a 110cc frame, or an olc C50 50cc step through. apparently the 90s are a little different but will still fit with some modification. pretty keen on a dual range gearbox one but even still the single range ones will probably be fine for what ...

I guess it's more a thign of having to pay defender dollars to get a defender/coiler rather than my jew expectations.

Re: C240 Opinions

you could tweak the fuel and add a j-pipe type turbo setup and it'd probably go ok. infinite cooling so you could run a water-air intercooler and probably actually get quite a lot of grunt out of it, although I'm not sure how much it'd handle. being a boat you've got pretty constant loadings vs. tha...

I wouldn't worry about updating it unless it's giving you issues or a lack of power for the application. good little engines.

up your'e SH1 through mangaweka/taihape, hit the back way from mangaweka to taihape - ridge road south. pretty shiney track but it's rather nice. would be a bit more entertaining the wetter it gets. 'gentle annie' napier to taihape road if you're heading from the bay to central north island. if you'...

Re: Do i keep the disco?

3.6 isuzu he'll be using is a 4bE1, 4bb1s are ancient and pretty uncommon in nz, even when they were new. most 4cyl stuff was 4ja1, 4jb1, 4bc2 or 4bd1 back then. interesting that the 4bd1 kills stuff. you could get them with a factory isuzu box (probably a jatco) back when they were available new in...

Re: FS 750-16s, widened rims and other series one LR stuff

yeah man they have a sligthly different appearance in the centers but they're otherwise the same. they're probably not really any wider than LWB steels for a series 3 but all the width is offset outwards so it makes the track width a little wider, and lokos a lotmore staunch. TBH I kinda wanted to k...
