Turbo timer wiring

Hey guys. I have recently bought a KZJ95w prado with the 1kz. It has a turbo timer installed, but doesn't seem to be working correctly. It has an "on/off" button on it which I figure is to choose whether or not to use to TT. If I turn it OFF while the car is running, then the motor will im...

Re: (Slow) '87 SJ413 Build

100% agree on narrower rims. 15x8 is too wide, especially for a 30x9.5.... I just bought some 15x5.5s of zukmeista with the centers flipped for $400 shipped to my door. For the $400 odd you're looking at for those steelies from 4WDBits, you could buy some stock 15x5.5s and have the centers flipped ...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

I'm torn between deleting the charcoal canister from the system. If I do that, how will the fuel tank breathe? my old 413 didn't have a charcoal canister , the tank just vented to atmosphere through a small filter My SJ system didn't, but the Vitara did. I have it all there, it just seems a little ...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

Another update. I'm making slow progress... The motor is in! https://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5775/30383397214_b129a22017_c.jpg And all is well. It went in pretty smoothly. My engine mount lined up perfectly, so that was a bonus. The only hiccup is the Power steering pump wheel hits the radiator suppor...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

Using a new flywheel was my preference. A new ring gear was too pricey ($115+ gst and freight) and I couldn't find a secondhand one that was feasible. So I ordered a grind on my existing one and was going to rotate the gear 90 degrees to spread the wear out. But then the day that I picked up the gro...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

what wireing diagram did you use for the engine? I'm doing same swap at the moment cherrs I found this one the most useful: http://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/phpBB3/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=10230 Print off in A3 and laminate it. Trust me. This here has a few handy bits and pieces in it too, though r...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

Today I swapped over the ring gear on the flywheel. Off with the old and on with the "new-to-me". They're actually surprisingly easy to get off. A good fat prybar in there has no torubles. https://c5.staticflickr.com/6/5572/30711032892_598e821244_c.jpg And they're even easier to put on. I ...

Re: Rusty the SJ413

As per usual, a fair bit has changed since the last update. I did a few little things - like added a tow hook on the front, and a few other bits and pieces https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8784/28015134770_31af82c307_c.jpg I tried and tried to get the thing running right, and I just couldn’t. WANTED: SJ413 or G13 flywheel

My flywheel is missing a few teeth, and I want to spend a bit of $ on an uprated clutch which will require a custom machine on the flywheel. So I figure I may as well find a decent flywheel to spend the $ on.

Does anyone have one for free or cheap? Cheers guys :)

Seen that milky stuff under the cap before and it was from a truck that only got driven very short distances. Solution might be a decent test drive and check it after Yeah think I might have to give that a go. It seems to have been meticulously maintained and it also seems to be common for vehicles...

How do I do either of those - more air/less fuel?

And the 2.5 turns out. Are you saying wind it the whole way in and then out 2.5 turns?

Appreciate the help mate.

SJ413 carb tuning

A friend of mine recently gave me a standard spare carb he had, in unknown condition. I swapped it out for my one because I know mine is crap (poor idle, stumbling on acceleration, etc). I'm having trouble tuning it or even knowing where to start. It will only start with the choke fully on It won't ...

Thanks for the replies guys. So it seems I'm better off buying something originally 7-seater (as I suspected, if I'm honest). My budget is around $7k which is lower than I want it to be, but you live within your means! I'll mainly be using it for carting kids and their gear around, trips away, towin...

7 Seater conversion

Hey guys. I'm looking to buy a 7 seater wagon. To open my options up a bit, I'm wondering what the process is around converting a wagon to 7 seats into say a surf, terrano, prado, mistral whatever. Are the physical seats easy to find? And are generic seats that'll fit into most cars available? Will ...
