Re: Napoleon hill

Hi Sorry to hi-jack. Which is the better / more scenic route north to south? orsouth to north? Thanks Lobo It is no more or less scenic from either end, its a good drive either way. Going in from Ahaura end is easier as you drive down Napoleon Hill, which has now had the ruts filled in and is very ...

Get the lowest ratio diffs you can, or fit dual transfers to get better torque at the wheels. And then drive it to suit the power you still won't have. Just like my 2L-TE Prado

No, Truck is set up with fwhs and spacers.
If it had the electric hubs still we would have come to you.
Having said that do you have a spare set of modified electrics you could sell?

Nelson creek has been getting more popular with freedom camper types in their vans. Good spot though. Goldsborough was a nice place to stay.
Another option for you may be the Scout Lodge at Kumara Junction. Kahurangi Lodge. It cost us $80 a night for three families

I hope you managed to hold onto the fruity bits off your old girl?

I am in the same boat s you re the winch nuts, if I can source some from engineers up here I'll let you know, unless you beat me to finding some.
What size/pitch bolts are you using?

I have seen a Vitara climb Mt Rochford, carefully. And it drove Tailings, Vitara was modified( quite a bit) and on 31s. If a reasonable number of people attend then there should be the option of multiple trips on some days so the Shinier/standardish trucks can head away on one trip when the bigger/M...

Spacers under your springs on the front diff is a bad idea, very very bad, it will muck up your steering especially under braking.
Longer spring hangers would be better, but still not ideal

I'd second Mudlva's comments. I have the Runva he has linked and it is a good unit. Actually I have the next model up, but essentially the same winch. Just pull it apart and check all the seals are present and correctly fitted between the motor and drum and gearbox. Mine weren't and water killed my ...
