Re: Wanted 4.88 Gears for C200 diff (D21 non-turbo diesel)
Hi Nath thanks for the info, I'll check that out. Yeah the swap should be interesting but by all accounts pretty straightforward. I have a diff drop bushing kit which will drop it by 3/8" of an inch, also helping w CV angles. May have to jack the engine up slightly too. Will need to use the ent...

Hi guys I'm looking for a a 4.88 ratio ring & pinion for the C200 differential, as fitted to the rear of 1987-1990 NON turbo diesel & 4-cyl petrol Terrano/Navara 4x4 (transaxle code CA48). It's the Salisbury style differential, also used in the front of the MK patrol. Attached is a photo for...

Re: terrano noisy front end/gearbox worrys
Well, driving style accounts for a lot of things too.
Anything mechanical has a breaking point, IMO its a case of knowing you're vehicle and driving accordingly. 9.5" width is a great option to minimize lateral force on the CVs.

Build date plate for D21??
Hi, I'm trying to figure out the month my 1988 Terrano was built, does anyone know if the chassis is stamped or if there is a build plate somewhere? Or do I need to decode the vin to get the month?
Cheers

Nissan D21 *Superlift Upper Control Arms* - PROPER LIFT
Rare opportunity, I have a set of BRAND NEW Superlift/Rough Country 3" Upper Control Arms to suit Nissan D21 Terrano or Navara. These replacement control arms solve several major issues with torsion bar lifting these trucks: -restores factory balljoint angles -restores factory wheel alignment g...

Re: Limits of a standard terrano...
31" tyres were an OEM option on the SE model, you'll be able to fit 31" muds with no rubbing/no flares/no lift if you get some factory Lego alloys, they're 0 offset (search for an image). The easiest way to prevent failure of front suspension components off road is to just leave it alone! ...

Re: terrano noisy front end/gearbox worrys
WD21 front differential is immensely strong for its application, keep the oil fresh and it wont fail. From what I have read, the Nissan auto hubs are pretty strong (again fresh grease), the only annoyance is their tendency to disengage when going from Forward to Reverse. According to the FSM, some c...

Re: terrano noisy front end/gearbox worrys
-Regrease balljoints/front driveshaft/TREs -Try reversing for 50m in 2H at a reasonable speed in case the hubs are confused -Transfer case oil/chain? I had one which had the same symptom - flush and fresh fluid and it was away. -Dump gearbox oil immediately and refill with 5.1l GL4 Theres a massive ...

WD21 Terry: TD27 into V6 frame
Hi guys I am looking at taking a TD27t crate engine to the US to install into a 5-speed VG30i WD21 Pathfinder (same mechanical spec as Terrano). As I understand, Nissan has a habit of matching gearboxes to engines. So my questions: -Is the VG30 5-speed trans. compatible with a Td27t? -Will I need th...

Re: Terrano td27 turbo fails dramatically...
I once saw a Land Rover 200Tdi engine runaway due to to turbo seal failure. Once the engine got a taste of its own lubricant, it quickly revved itself to destruction.
A great reason to keep a Co2 fire extinguisher onboard, apparently dowsing the intake will choke it, if you make it early enough.

Parts supplier WD21 Balljoints, TREs etc
Hi there Wheres the best place to get suspension balljoints and steering tie rods for these trucks? I'm in Wellington but would also order online if price was better. Also, looking for the cup-washers for the tension arms (compression rod) bushings - I have new bushings and sleeves, but need washers...

Re: TD27 dump flange diagram
Heres what I am thinking for the flange, based on Daniel's diagram and kiwipetes meaty flange. 5mm thickness ok? To me, 3" OD seems a tight fit around the bolt holes, have you guys run into any problems with welds interfering w/ the bolt holes? I dont see how the nuts would fit true with such l...

Re: TD27 dump flange diagram
Danielbeek - thanks v much, that would be great. I can see how the downpipe would affect flow. My current exhaust is cobbled together and rusty, and I'm going to drop it all out. I have another 12" mandrel bend to join the to the dump, then a flexi, 2.5" reducer, 2.5" standard exit, p...
