Re: Newby. Terrano v6 owner

Also I've got the v6 petrol engine what's the pros and cons between the two?

The V6 models have much stronger manual gearbox and front diff (R200) and double-offset CV joints (28 spline outer)

33x10.5s will fit standard unlifted (just) on the factory Lego wheels (15x7 alloy)

Re: TD42 RWD

Never know whats going on in someones life. Anyway about the gearboxes, it gets confusing because you have said before that they are all the same gearbox internals, which means we're all running around with Patrol gearboxes behind TD27s http://www.offroadexpress.kiwi/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=...

Re: TD42 RWD

There's misinformation in this thread. The cast iron FS5R50A manual gearbox was only ever fitted to one vehicle mentioned in this thread: Patrol/Safari and would be the only suitable/strong enough manual gearbox behind the TD42. As said, Nissan Civilian 2wd gearbox is the same and would be the best ...

Nice, yeah I did that originally when experimenting, works fine... damned sight better than the curved inner anyway  http://thumbnails110.imagebam.com/31064/e6fa92310639874.jpg I cut the stud off an old tie rod end and screwed two adjusters together with it. Re: 18x1.5 Left Thread Tap = HD Nissan IFS Steering Links $9

Sorry I don't have it on hand. The outer tie rod is still weak spot in this setup though, I realized. Could improve on it by extending the adjuster and using a bigger non shanked outer :o eg FJ80 tie rod, taper reamer is easy to find too... http://www.marlincrawler.com/images/80end_500.jpg

Ralfie is correct, they will continue to turn the front end when in 4HI. Much like my old (late production) 1984 Series III LR, which had front hub flanges fitted from the factory. And its a chain driven tcase unlike a Series LR which is bulletproof, balls to the wall gear driven. I drove a YJ (bast...

You'll need to find an open carrier D44 which will probably be pretty difficult in NZ.

Hey that setup of yours looks pretty promising so far! I like what you have done, is it still factory track width? Thanks mate, standard width currently, Running 7" rims really deep backspacing that hug the hubs and 33x9.5 BFGs, rebuilt 8" 4-pin front Nissan LSD with solid pinion spacer. ...

FYI, if any of you have a 2000's higher spec Delica, here's what you need to do to get 31's" on it. 30" fit with no mods. I needed to cut an inch off the front spoiler, then take off the mud flaps and another inch off the guard. Fortunately the cuts can be covered by the mud flaps and ext...

Re: My Pajero build. The Whale mk2.

Those are radius arms, and the brackets I was talking about. They make a kit for the WD22 platform (which is really quite different), and you still need to find an axle that isn't available in New Zealand.

But lets please not bomb Chris' thread with off topic content!

'Fraid not.
They make a bunch of overpriced crossmembers and a leaf spring hanger bracket for SAS conversion, but not a complete kit by any means, let alone a link kit.

Hey guys, I'm looking at swapping out the FS5W71C in my D21 for a FS5R30A from a R50. Will the older transfer case bolt on to the later box? Dont quote me but I dont think the 71c transfer will work. There are about 4 different water pumps for Td/Qd engines, any decent parts shop should know that and have told you what to check when buying it. Re: Best all-round shock for 2" lifted terrano

You are right, adjusting a torsion bar does not affect spring rate, its just that the real world results feel very similar. Spring rate is determined by bar diameter * length of bar. When adjusting torsion bars, you are adjusting the twisting force, ie torque, on the bar. It is worth noting that the...
