Re: Rolled Nissan terrano R3m
In case you don't know: hydraulic locking a diesel will result in snapped conrods, gudgeons, bent cranks, shagged bearings and all manner of expensive damage. So yes, seeing it running is a good start!

Re: Rolled Nissan terrano R3m
I don't know anyone concerned, but if it were me in that situation, I'd let it be! If he's a mechanic, and doesn't think it's worth his time to sell it as 'running' - then I'd be very suspicious. I'm not sure how they're set up, apparently safaris can roll CCW safely (if they roll CW then the IP flo...

I've got mail... I really curse the P.O.s lineage, I'm having to do 30 years worth of maintenance that he seems to have ignored! Drive it into the ground and flick it off to some dumb mug! She'll be right! Enough ranting. I also have an electric fuel pump on it's way, and relays and hoses and fittin...

Thanks guy! Yes and yes, H233B 31-spline will fit the front. Any LSD from the rear of a Terrano that looks like this. Must be 33 spline if swapping the whole unit So I need 31 spline for the front and 33 at the rear? Theoretically it should be possible to have a twin stick but would require separati...

Re: WTB: Y60 / GQ Safari, long list of bits.
OK, so the diff(s) are moving up my list. I've searched through 10 pages of threads here and I think I'm on the right track. Current diffs are stock 4.1 ratio, any markings or stickers are either under a half inch of dust, or no longer with us, but measuring from the outside, it looks like the H233 ...

The advice I have from more than one person, is that even diesel quality in the back and beyond isn't flash, so to fit parralell sets of fuel filters. If you have a drop tank then have one for town fuel and one for outback fuel. Diesel will have lower exhaust temps than petrol so less likely to star...

Thanks we want stay until may 2017. Joining a local club will provide valuable information. My father has a landcruiser over there and they have quite a strong following. From what I understand mods are difficult and need engineering if you raise or lower the roofline by 50mm! Which limits tyres and lift you can have. But my old man's...

Haha wouldnt think so.... 1s yota others ford.... there would have to be a differance some where I suppose the biggest issue is clearing the handbrake, and fitting between the doors. Although I am interested in an umbrella handbrake, just because. Between the gas torch and a few lengths of flat bar...

I don't know about your application in particular, (module, points, distributor) but yes, the coil is supposed to collapse it's field for each cylinder, giving you the high voltage spark. (And the flashing light) This should be open circuit rather than to-ground, I don't quite get how you're measuri...

Also, would I be too optimistic in thinking that I could drop the driveshaft, undo the flange/pumpkin bolts and pull the diff guts forward and out? Or do I need to remove one/both wheels and driveshafts to swap the internals?

WTB: Y60 / GQ Safari, long list of bits.
So I'l start this thread rather than lots of one-bit ones. Right now the tops of my list are: *Factory rear LSD or vacuum locker (easy) *Front 3/4 bench and driver bucket. -I have never seen one of these in a GQ but blackduck specify a cover for them so they must exist. I remember one of you had an ...

Jeeeeez. Does your digger-guy have any jobs going?? 10k is a solid week on a 13 tonner up here, and I can do a hell of a lot of damage with a 13t!! It would also equal my going rate for 4 weeks on a 2 tonner!
I'm in. I can bring a 2T digger if I have to, but surely there's one more local to be had...

The next thing to check would be relays and fusible links by the driver side battery. Mine is single cab, but I imagine the front and rear are on seperate circuits.

Not sure about your balancing issue, sorry! But regarding pressure, I had my BFGoodrich KM's 33x10.5x15 on 7" rim down to 8-9psi and never lost a bead, even when being rough, slamming sideways into banks etc (not intentionally like a clown monkey, just momentum + front spool = hold on) :D Less...

Re: All muds and no alloy makes Mihi a happy man!
One thing though, and I'm not sure if it's chinese rims or bigger tyres or just a poor fit up, but the rims have 1-200 grams front and back to balance, which seems like heaps to me. I am thinking about balancing beads inside but not sure if I should be having these pulled and rebalanced!

Loving it! 33x12.5x15? 10.5w on a 7" rim. Initial impressions, riding at 45psi: Road noise, none Steering, still lock to lock Speedo now a solid 10% under. Revs, still take off in second. Sucked a bit of it out up top (4th 5th) But I didn't buy it to race. I had a bit of a hoon in the paddock ...
