Good to hear you've got it going better!
I've not had a chance to look at the tacho yet unfortunately, still rather busy playing with earthquakes 'n structures right now
That said I'd like to get it sorted so must have a look at it soon.

Re: 95 TD27 - Small leak from injector body joint
If it is the injector halves that have come loose you'll need to tighten them to a reasonable level - you may need to put it in a vice and do so to avoid overtightening the injector to head thread. I'm not sure what the specific torque settings are but a squiz around the 'net would probably reveal t...

Re: Swapping Qd32 injector pumps
I and one or two others here have done this on our TD27's. I know nothing about the QD32 but if the motor is the same (ie. the standard and 't' version) then the pump should work. However if the mech pump doesn't have a boost compensator then it may not work quite as well as it could but it's probab...

Re: Terrano surging at low revs
Hi Race, no I'm sorry I don't know about the turbo off-hand. I think mine's covered up too but will have a look and see what I can this w/end. Your issue could still be timing, or some other issue with that inj pump. I made up an adapter to fit my dial gauge and timed it according to the book. Your ...

Re: Terrano surging at low revs
Hi Race, thanks for the info. I wonder how you timed your engine? Hard to start can mean it's too far retarded. Does it blow any smoke when it's surging? Did you do the egr mod? In my eti machine the ecu was doing some weird stuff with that - made a big difference to disable it. Also I'm interested ...

Re: 96 terrano Speedo fault
Ok, good you've done that - bear in mind though that is could have an intermittent fault. The cct diagram shows a 'unified meter control unit' that the sensor and speedo are connected to with the two connectors I noted before. If it helps it should be terminal 16 abd 14 that are the from the sensor ...

Re: Terrano surging at low revs
Hey Race, are you having problems with surging even with the mechanical pump or are you just generally interested in where the little filter is? If it's surging it could just be you've not got the timing right. Also interested in the electronic pump you removed - was that motor you fitted originally...

Re: 96 terrano Speedo fault
Yes it is drivers side and there are at least one if not two sets of connectors between the sensor and wherever it connects to in the cab (ECU or Speedo). Mine has I think one directly around the sensor and one under a removeable plate aiong with a a number of others associated with the gearbox/tran...

Re: 96 terrano Speedo fault
It's a seperate sensor on those. Located at the rear RHS housing where the output shaft is. Possible that the sensor has partially seized or spinning the cog without driving the hall-effect device or whatever it is they use. I assume the odometer also stops? If so then the most likely culprit is tha...

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant
For those that are interested I installed the mechanical pump this weekend. The conversion was reasonably straightforward, use the throttle cable from a D21, modify the existing pedal assy, fit a boost compensator fitting into the manifold (remove the EGR valve and thread the resulting hole). Bigges...

Re: Help, Coolant Capacity in 92 Terrano
Note that's for an R20, not a D21 (which I assume is what you have?). Most of it's the same I think but my R20 radiator is different to both my D21's. In fact it's probably closer to the R50 I've got.

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant
Rangimotors - I will see what a rebuild kit costs here, not much in some other countries from what I can tell! I'm like you in that I'd rather have a spare to be doing this with but all my other Nissans are mechanical pumps unfortunately... TD - thanks for that, makes sense. I'll have a further look...

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant
Thanks for that Rangimotors - I don't suppose you know just what in the pump was faulty? I do suspect that's what is wrong with mine but I'm still working on narrowing it down - incidentally Crash and Landy the protocol and 14p connector on this ('96) R50 is Nissan Consul, not OBD2. That's ok 'cos I...

Re: Terrano R50 TD27 bad idle stalls- intermittant
Hey Rangimotors - just wondering if you eventually got this sorted? I have an R50 with essentially the same problem but I'm fairly sure it's not the accelerator pot and am trying to follow through a fault-finding process which is increasingly looking like the pump but I'm not convinced (also it look...

Hah, dunno about these Nissans, methinks they break gearboxes and rust a bit more than the roughly equivalent Toyota (fighting talk I'm aware :-)... Also the new Patrol is slow and sounds a lot more like a tractor than I'd like, altogether I think the present Prado I have will take some beating! Che...

Uh-oh, Christchurch again!
Hi all, I really just joined this forum to reply to a comment made by Johnno over a new vehicle I purchased - amazing what comes up in Google! So I'm not really into 4WD'ing these days (although I own a Prado, Suzi & Honda) but thought a few might be interested in my history from when I usec to ...
