We run them in the rear of the Defenders, $1200 landed at your door, fit your self with a socket set and a dial gauge

Probably the most cost effective solution, personally.

You can use thick cut gears for regearing in future. That way you use old locker with new gears. Just double your labour cost, once now and again in future for reinstall.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

You can't just take the diff head out of a Jeep to regear..... Or fit a locker. Dana diffs don't work like that. You can fit an elocker which eliminates the whole compressor expense. There are some good options out there without air. A lot of factory ones now are elocker for simplicity of the contro...

If the a/c was working at the time of purchase, how is that your problem now that it's not working - unless you are a dealer and CGA applies. Fitting a belt should be easy.

A decent muffler should tone down the exhaust. It's a very simple system.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

my Pick would be a Detroit or Yukon Grizzly Auto unlocker in the back - Full carrier and much smother operation than the lunch box lockers (lokka etc) then in the front a Detriot True Trak Cam LSD in the front - most of the benefits of a auto unlocker ,mainly in stopping the unloaded wheel spin. bu...

Definitely Quadratec. Used them too many times to remember. Also, got good service from www.summitracing.com

If you find a vendor unable to ship overseas, just use YouShop.co.nz for shipping. Good rates and service.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

Yukon do an air locker as well, but I agree they are all expensive and not a diy job.

When I was looking at them, one thing was sure that not all auto lockers are created equal. Some brands were better suited / behaved in Jeep applications. When on a budget, there is always a compromise.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

The Wrangler doesn't tend to have free wheeling hubs fitted and since you do use it occasionally on the road, then I would say no to auto locker in the front. There is no Torque delivered to front axle in 2wd, auto locker should not be a problem at all. It's used in Wranglers fairly commonly in US....

Just thinking about this, if you have to pay someone else to do the install then get them to do ratio regear at the same time. Factory ratios were pretty tall for TJs.

Re: Auto-Lockers (Yes / No)

Should be great, given that it's trailer queen.

Rear auto locker, if its auto. Manual transmission will make it a bit harsher.

DIY, if I had not sold my TJ I would have done this exact thing. Only if not a daily driver.

Re: Bedrug Jeep Liners

Without carpet in a TJ, it was a little louder inside but not an issue if you have MT tyres and softtop (they'll be noiser). As for warmth, transmission is next to your left leg. Stay nice and warm. Plus the heater works wonderfully as it was designed for American snowy conditions. I did the raptor ...

Any particular reason why you want this brand? Another option would be getting hippoliner or raptorliner done, and just throw the carpet out.

A brand new driver side air bag from Mopar is around USD 400, passenger side is around USD 200. This out of US. I looked at both 2002 Cherokee and 2012+ Wrangler.... Just for info.

I believe air bags work differently, and in some cases are disabled, when in 4 low in Jeeps. But I agree, why would you want it disabled on purpose. If the bump is hard enough to activate them, you would be thankful that they did deploy when they did.

Ask Quadratec to use DHL Express, fairly cheap. I paid USD 125 freight for my complete softtop for the old TJ.

You have to decide what you want to buy, then its easy to work out how to get it here. NZ Post Youshop is a good option for freight as well.

It was Liberty in US, but Cherokee in other markets.

Air bag light might be because of clockspring in the steering. Does your horn work all the time? No horn, air bag light on will be worn clockspring.
