Re: Safari Lifting
Definitely extend brake lines, Panhard rod/s will want adjusting....has been so long since I did mine I can't remember if I had to shorten it or lengthen it. Steering wheel will go out of whack, just adjust your steering rod ends to correct it. You may need gearbox spacers for the vibrations...being...

 I know all that, like I said, I don't have on board air so not going to let them down. Also I didn't ask for anyone's opinion on my 4wding style, I have a huge amount of fun doing some revving and throwing mud round, I've been doing it that way for years. I actually asked about where people ...

Lowering your pressures increases the foot print of the tyre and therefore more/better traction. Good luck in not listening to experienced guys and 'reinventing the wheel' ...xcuse the pun :/.

Re: 15x10 Rims
That's the problem with tyres 12.5" wide....recommended tyre manufacturer rim size legally is 8.5" - 10". No one makes 8.5" so unless getting rims made to suit most go 10's. You'll be over looking cool after you've popped beads a few times, it's why there's so many 2nd hand 10&qu...

My snorkel is 4" all the way to the turbo, includes custom airbox 4" in/out obviously.
Imagine breathing through a drinking straw....then breath through a bit of 25mm pipe. That's the same effect I had in going 4" induction. Massive difference.

Re: 24v Saf alternator options?protect from mud?
Ok, what you want is an alternator from an Isuzu 4HF1. It has the vacuum pump on the back, is 24v and 50amps, it's a direct fit to a Nissan TD42. If I remember correctly it has a 3 groove pulley and I cut that 3rd groove off with a 1mm grinder blade. It will fit...mine didn't because i've got 4"...

If it's a 1999 then you have a GU or Y61 and they didn't come out as Mavericks. Only Patrols/Safari's. Is it lwb or swb?.
Can you put a pic up pls?
Just re-read your post...a 24v Maverick???!!!. Something doesn't stack up and definitely would like to see a pic!

Hi Colin, that's a bit confusing. ...GQ's ended their run before '99. Are you sure of the year?. The Maverick was the Ford badged version for Nissan and only brought out in Aust in 12v. Basically they had the same engines and running gear. Have a Google search on GQ diff locks "vacuum actuator&...

There's also a 100+ page thread on the Patrol4x4 site. Pretty sure you have to use 2 stroke 2T only......anyhow i've been using it on and off for 3-4 yrs with no issues. You don't really notice much difference except maybe less rattle or noise as said but the big thing is that it adds lube for the p...

We recently had a car brought down to Chch from Rotorua, when making enquiries we found that one guy owns most of the companies so doesn't really matter who you use.
We used Captain Transporter and car was delivered without any issues whatsoever.
