Re: wanted:nissan safari pto winch or high mount
nope , just saving him from laying under his truck to change the pins You don't have to lie under the truck to change the pins...you redrill the first shear pin (gearbox end) out by 1.5mm and put in a high tensile bolt..preferably a hex bolt (allen key style). You leave the shear pin closest to the...

Re: Rattly rear calipers GQ
Oh yeah true, coz your nuts weren't tight enough? It's only happened since new ones gone on. And never had the rear discs off. Tightened em up last night with rattle gun (prob too tight) but yeah still rattle Nope...wheel nuts were good. With the wheel done up tight I could wiggle the disk rotor an...

Re: Rattly rear calipers GQ
Ok...and i'm assuming the wheel is still on tight when you do this test?
I had a similar rattle and the local brake outfit said slider pin, I changed the pin and still had the rattle.
My one was the rear disc wasn't being clamped tightly against the studs. Blimmin rattle annoyed me for months!

Are you absolutely sure it's the slider pin causing the rattle?

Re: Y60 PTO Winch
Check the shear pins out. Most people fit an 8mm cap screw for the one nearest the gearbox and a genuine shear pin up front because they are easier to punch out when you snap one And use a nyloc nut on the bolt - also make sure the bolt isn't too long cos it will connect with stuff when the shaft i...

Re: Oil coming out of top of diff breathers?! help
Not trying to be funny but can someone explain 'triple lockers' for me pls?
A front diff has 1 locker, the rear diff another locker so a vehicle can only be twin locked .
Nissan driver obviously so don't get it when the yota guys say their 4wd is triple locked??
Cheers

Hi guys
Anyone in the Christchurch or North Canterbury area know of a good auto sparky who does house calls?
Have a bit of an issue with the electrics and don't really want to drive it to town.
Cheers.

Re: TD42 engine mounts
Yes but do some homework before you spend more than is necessary, my mounts have been in since 1991 - new OEM mounts and I should get another 20yrs. Plus the heavy duty mounts that are being made (not just by Superior) are so solid that there have been issues reported with vibrations. If in doubt go...

What monstr said, either through the parent website in Aust or trademe.

Their prices are pretty damn good...have been meaning to replace mine as well just for the sake of it.

Too easy mate...you can use your std rotors, I did. Bear in mind those efi rotors and twin pots are on 15" rims .

Re: Wtd: GQ 2 pot calipers and rotor
Rotors are discs which are rotors...quality is basic, when mine are at their minimum thickness i might go for slotted rotors.
Still have standard rotors even though their thickness will be down from factory and with the twin pot efi calipers I can stamp on the pedal
and lock everything up.

Twin piston GU will be suitable for 16" rims only, also the bolt pattern of the calipers will not match GQ diffs.

Re: Wtd: GQ 2 pot calipers and rotor
Possibly well enough for a cert coxsy..maybe even go slotted front rotors, but nothing beats twin pot calipers even though the twin pot pistons from an efi42 are smaller than the oem GQ single jobbie. Keep your sliders lubed and make sure the proportional valve is adjusted accordingly. To do better ...

Re: Wtd: GQ 2 pot calipers and rotor
Took me 8 months to finally source twin pot calipers from an efi..that was hassling wreckers every 2 weeks.
Well worth the effort, straight bolt on to 15" rims etc and I can lock up 37's.
