looking at purchasing comy v6 motor shortly to drop in my 60. Dont try and twist my arm and tell me to go lex v8 or supra 6 :D all good engines, but ive owned plenty a comys and the v6s are damn good and simple. hows progress goin? you gona buy that v6 in Welly? im seriously looking at purchasing a motor shortly, and just sit on it for a little bit, get it checked and get bearings and seals done b4 i fit it, i dont mind if it takes a few-6 months, might go the auto option tho

why not just continue using your truck as it is, keeping it at a saleable state, and look for a 60 series (solid axle), get a temporary loan to purchase it, then sell yours, shouldnt have to spend any more than what your current surf is worth, you then have no issues with not having a mobile truck, ...

trust me, ide do the coon swap in a second if there was someone local who said "yip ive done it before, its easy and gave me a price" i dont want to spend a hell of alot a money eitha, though i want it a comfortable daily driver so it is worth spending good coin on something that will last...

i thought the series 1 and 2s were much the same, i know that when first released in 89 they had reliabilty issues and small parts failure, but fixed all that, which was then named the series 2, series 2s are the way to go definately. even if you just got one stripped, checked and all seals, bearing...

would it not be worth getting yours stripped and all the neccessary bits rebuilt/replaced? that way you know its good, never know what your getting with 2nd hand motors, otherwise theres a crowd on trademe, selling em starting at $450 i think, but the more you spend the more of a warrnty you get
