upgading suspension

hi just upgrading suspension in my 1990 hilux surf from original to after market heavy duty suspension but cant seem to get the back shocks out does anyone have any help tips to get them out? thanks.

what bit are you having trouble with?
take off the actuator on the top, unbolt the top and bottom of the shock, pull em out.
about as easy as it gets.

Can get bottom bolts out but just cant get top bolts or get a tool up there

heaps of room in there. you just can't see what your doing so its a bit fiddly.

are the rears pin or eye on the top? If they are pin, get a spanner on the top then spin the whole shock. if it's really stuck and you don't mind buggering the old shock get some pipe grips on there to help you spin it.

If they are eye.... as you were

They are pin, but there is a sealed cover on alot of them that has the actuators for the TEMS (or what ever it is) suspension adjustment. You have to get the top of that first, and if you have never seen one before, might be tricky to suss it out by feel.

DONE IT!!

Yeah got home today and smashed it out front and back borrowed set of stillsons (monkey wrench to some i think) and yeah got old gurls out and got me new bad boy heavy duties in there. Heaps better no bounce and clank anymore. Next step replace 4wd actuator hopefully get 4wd then will keep posted having heaps fun learning bout my truck!!
